04-8-2010 - hate tests!

My mood while writing this blog:

So I went yesterday for the STUPID 3 hour glucose test. After I drank it, about 30 minutes later I started to get really hot and then dizzy. They made me lay down in one of the rooms (which by the way I should have been laying down to begin with since I AM on BED REST!! huh) So they put cold wet napkins on my neck and forehead to cool me down. It helped... couldn't wait to leave though.

I got the results back today and I passed 3 out of the 4 blood tests... BUT since I failed the last one, my doc is "a little concerned" so I need to make an appointment with my Endocrinologist. Which is fine bc I am due for another blood test for my thyroid.

I also asked her about the 24 hour urine specimen that they had me do and that came back with protein in my urine soooo she wants to retest again in 2-3 weeks! She said it was "slightly" elevated but to double check she wants me to do it again. FINE!!!! I just keep telling myself ... 10 more weeks... 10 more weeks and stitches come out and hopefully soon after my baby girl is here with me!!

On a happier note... my baby shower is in 6weeks and 4 days!!! LOL So I have been looking online for something nice to wear. I came to realize... I don't like maternity clothes too much! LOL But hopefully I'll find something tomorrow. Ok well this heartburn is kicking my butt so I am going to eat and go to bed!

I felt really unwell during my test as well. Not right when I drank it, and I didn't even think the drink was bad, but an hour later I felt really dizzy. Laying down actually made everything spin even more, so I just had to sit it out. It was some long 3 hours. Sorry that you need so many tests etc, but as you say.. 10 more weeks and it will all be over, and quickly forgotten!! All the best! Love, Karin

I know tests can be VERY annoying esp. when you have to go through so many, but like you said - not for much longer :-) I think you should wear something similar to your profile pic, you look lovely in that x

Ugh I would be so annoyed with all the testing but it sure is worth it to have our babies here.Hope everything goes well!YAY for your shower!!! As for Maternity clothes, i just bought bigger sizes or bellysima is a good brand :)

I know waht you mean about hating tests, lol! you said in here that you had to get your thyroid tested again, my doctor sent me last week for a thyroid test because he was worried i may have "pregnancy induced thyroid disorder" I had never heard of this before, but since I gained a pretty good ammount of weight in a short time, he was worried about it. just wondering if you were dealing with the same thing, or if you knew much about it? Glad to hear things are gonig well! take care!
