24-11-2009 - moving on-and Happy Thanksgiving

Nov 24th, 2009-Happy Thankgiving everyone!

Well, my little girl is 6 weeks old and thriving...she has been such a blessing and we can't imagine life without her. She's a fantastic little sleeper and already at 3 weeks did stretches of 5-6 hours at night...and for the past 3 nights she has done anywhere from 7-8 1/2 hours at a time...I'm in shock with this as my son didn't sleep this well until he was beyond 6 months old. I'm not on this site much anymore, so feel free to find me on facebook under the name Erin Behen (Garrett) is my maiden name, and we live in Seattle, WA. Claire's birth was fairly uneventful with the exception of some trouble during the epidural where i got severe pain down my leg and my BP crashed for a few minutes. After that was fixed, I hung around in bed all day visiting with family from noon until 10 pm...when she was born at 10:07. My recovery was pretty quick, we just had to teach her how to nurse properly and supplement her with syringe feeds for the first 4 days. Just this week she has learned how to nurse without the help of special pillows and nursing shields to make suction easier. I'm now scheduled for my IUD on Dec 14th since we are 95% sure this is our last pregnancy. 4 pregnancies, 2 healthy beautiful children, I think our 50% odds are enough to make me say we are a complete family. I might change my mind in the future, I'm going to be 30 in a few weeks, so I still have plenty of time if i decide we want another child. In the meantime I'm happy to have my waistline back! so glad to hear it all went well. jaide is a good sleeper too, must be a girl thing, not like my 3 boys, they were terrible. didn't sleep through till atleast 9 mths old. i'm not on face book, will have to join just so i can keep in touch with all the ladies on this site.
