| 10-8-2009 - Contractions.... | My mood while writing this blog:ouch! |
Yesterda I had contraction they were one minute apart and last for like around 30 seconds but I knew was not the real contractions , they were false labor contractions..but they were painful...once I got up and I started walking they went away, but I know my body is getting ready for the real deal, I am so scared even though this is my 3rd kid ...I dont use any drugs I have my babies natural thats why I am so scare bcz I know what i am gonna go thru.....but I have to be positive...
Here I found some helpful info ....
Braxton hicks
These contractions can be described as a tightening of the abdominal area, but are usually not painful. However, as you near your due date these contractions do become more powerful and begin to feel uncomfortable (I would not describe it as painful though---just uncomfortable).
Real contractions
The characteristics of false labor contractions are:
Contractions begin in the front, but they do not move to the back. Or contractions begin in the back, but they do not move to the front.
No predictable pattern.
Contractions may get longer or stronger or closer together, but one of these are missing.
Contractions may stop if you change what your doing or if you drink water.
The characteristics of contractions that are TRUE LABOR:
Contractions are symmetrical
Contractions begin at the cervix, move up and around to the back or from the back to the front.
They are regular and in a predictable pattern.
They get longer and stronger and closer together (all three)
They do not stop if you change whatever you are doing (walking may make them stronger).
A Good sign that you definitely are in labor is:
When contractions last 45 seconds to 1 minute long and come every fifteen to five minutes or less for at least an hour. Call your doctor.
