| 11-6-2009 - who to deliver with?....and good news |
My mood while writing this blog: indecisive |
We had our first OB appointment yesterday. The best part was hearing Cricket's HB two times! 163 and so loud and strong. I love that sound....makes me giggle. It's so nice to hear this early b/c you really do wonder if something is in there.....the OB thought the spotting was something random and with the strength of the HB had no concerns about it.
We are having to decide what to do about care providers. We had a homebirth with Abner...and LOVED it. The problems for us developed after we transferred to the hospital and we had such scary care. For us, even after a loss, giving birth isn't scary, but going to the hospital is. Our midwife was originally saying she didn't have the emotional capacity to deliver for us again, not in the same house/same town/same hospital...and we felt the same way. But, we are moving before this baby comes. We are agreed that we won't have Cricket in this town and we found out our midwife would deliver us if we go to the next city and rent a place to deliver (50 miles away)
Either way we go to this next city b/c that is where the OB is. We just need to decide if we are going to go the hopsital route or the midwife route. We have to decide soon for a variety of reasons and I want to make sure we are making the right choice b/c i don't want to bounce back and forth and be indecisive as time goes on. It is way cheaper for us to go with the midwife since we don't have insurance and we don't qualify for govt. assistance.
Hmm, we'll see. I'm so grateful that Cricket is doing well though and that we made it through the first trimester!
