26-7-2008 - Week 38 C~section is going to HAPPEN!!!

My mood while writing this blog:
Scared out of my mind!

Here we are week 38.... yesterday was a long long day and very emotional .... I went for my ultra sound and we found out that the baby is weighing between 10~12 pounds... my heart dropped when I heard this! She is still breech but of course I knew she still was. I asked if we could turn her and they said no its to risky cause she is already so big! So needless to say I am trying to come to terms with the fact that I am not going to have that perfect last birth and I am going to have to have myself cut open. I feel soooo horriable about it.... I know that I am not the first woman in man kind to have a c~section but I have always been soooo scared of having my body cut open for anything. So the doctor told me yesterday when we met with him that there are still risks involved with having a c~section and he told me that even if the baby was not breech they would have had to take her this way anyways cause her shoulders could have got stuck and they still possiably could. So I am really scared about this. 10 pounds is only a few more ounces than what my daughter weighed so I am confused why they feel like my body cant handle delivering this baby at 10 pounds. Its very frustrating. They keep throwing the G.D. in my face and telling me that is why she is so big...and that she would not have been if I would have done what I suppose to with doing the 3 hour test earlier... My blood sugar was fine up until about a week ago so I dont know if G.D. is the only reason why she is so big... I didnt have G.D. with my other two and they were big two....
I know that I feel horriable because I feel like its my fault because of the G.D. at least that is what the doctor is making me feel. I am hoping that when the time comes to d have her that I am going to be able to calm myself down and keep my anxiety level down. One second I am okay and the next I am in tears.... My husband thinks I am crazy! So on a more exciting note.... I will be having my little girly next week either tuesday or wensday more in likely they said we will be having her on tuesday.... I will know for sure what day on Monday!!! I hope that I can maintain sanity until then... I feel like I need to tell everyone I love them and say things that I have always wanted to say just in case something happens.... I know probably stupid but I dont know how to cope with this I guess.... Its 4 am in the morning I guess I should try and sleep even though all I do is stare at the wall and think and worry.... off to worry I go!!!!! :(

I understand that you're really nervous but try to relax a little... your beautiful baby girl will be here soon!!! Doctor's nowadays are pretty competent so try not to stress because it won't help you... everything is going to be just fine. Is your sister going to be back in town for the birth?
