21-2-2009 - Pre Eclampsia

Hi ladies,
Just a little update on whats been going on...havent been online for a while so thought I should fill you all in.
On Monday I went to Ikea with my friend Amanda to get some things for the baby and I started feeling a little strange....my balance was off and I was veering to one side all the time....like those dodgy shopping trollies/carts you get in your local food store.LOL But I didnt think much of it coz I was too busy shopping. Then on Tues I woke up and felt even worse, I felt all confused and weird, so I took myself down to my dads house and went to bed there. Woke up on Tuesday and could barely see a thing, it was sooooo scary, every time I tried to walk I fell over and I was throwing up non stop..... My hubby and my dad took me straight to the hosp were they saw me immediatley and ran some tests. Then diagnosed pre eclampsia. They admitted me straight away and started all sorts of tests to make sure the baby was ok. I was so scared but I knew I was in the right place. Had a scan done and baby was not in any sort of stress and was very happy in there in my tummy thank goodness!!! Once I knew she was ok I could relax a little. I was in for 3 days and the symptoms have calmed down alot. They let me home on the condition I was to be on bed rest from here on in....wasnt gonna argue with them and have literally slept all day today. Have to go back on Monday for a 4 hour monitoring and if things are still not right they will keep me there and decide what to do next. Our lil Ava might be with us a little sooner than we thought. They estimate she is 5 pounds 10 ounces at the moment so she will be ok if she has to be born a little early.
Please say a prayer the results are good on Monday...really dont want to be admitted again.

That's scary! My doc took me out of work over a week ago because my blood pressure was a little high (145/90) but has been as high as 150/100. But, I guess it's a really big deal because they have put the baby on the monitor 3 times since my pressure was high! They don't mess around when it comes to high blood pressure bc it puts both momma and baby at risk. They said that last week my baby was 5 lb 14 oz. (that was at 34 weeks) so I'm kinda hoping she comes early since I'm now on permanent bed rest and have nothing to do!!! Plus, that was only at 34 weeks....she could get SUPER BIG!!!! Is that wrong of me??? Well, take care and rest. (it really does help) Are you swelling at all???

omg hun i hope ur ok, jus u concentrate on resting, i no its so boring as there is nothing u can do at all but rest. its horrible being kept in hospital i was the same last wk n i have been dreadin them sayin i have pre-e cause of my high bp but ok upto now. hp everythin is ok today n its calmed down enough. xxxxxxx

Oh you poor thing...that must have been so scary for you. Please let us all know if you can what happens on Monday. As you say though at least if little Ava has to come a bit earlier she's had a good weight now and will be fine. Its quite exciting in a way although i know you'd want her to stay inside for a while longer. Good luck! xxx

Oh hun, I am so thankful everything is alright with little Ava and you! That must have been really frightening. Just follow doctor orders and sleep all day ;) Hope you feel better soon!!! Your in my prayers...Lots of love take care!

Oh my goodness-you must have been so scared! At least they have a handle on it now-I'm glad you went to the hospital to be taken care of. Just try to relax as much as you can!!! Good luck! You're in my prayers.
