My mood while writing this blog: Upset |
Hi Ladies I really need your help and advice.......
My beautiful daughter is such a happy little angel usually but she has been crippled with wind and reflux for the past few weeks and it seems to be getting worse. I was at my docs today and she said to stick with the easy digest formula and add infacol drops and also one sachet of Infant Gaviscon to each feed. This evening seems to be particularly bad she seems so uncomfortable and my heart is broken watching her. It is affecting her sleep so bad too, she is usually a great sleeper but the wind pains keep waking her up. I am kinda at the end of my tether and I feel like im going a bit mad from the broken sleep. Has any of you moms ever gone through the same thing and if so do you have any advice for me???? Thank you and I hope you and your lil ones are good xxxx

Friday, 29 May This is what i regularly do to my daughter! This video is from when she was 2 wks....but she's a VERY gassy baby still, and this helps immensely!

Also...when I feed her I keep my hand on her belly, not pressing hard, but firmly. I can feel her stomach bubbling and wringing and within a short period of time it settles down. I KNOW this helps!
Heat is also a great aid, as it "slows down" digestive issues. (Whereas cold actually speeds up abdominal activity ie: reduces constipation)
I have a stuffed toy that has a water filled cube in the centre of it for BOO BOO's. I have boiled a kettle and put the cube in the hot water to heat it up before putting it back into the stuffed animal and put it on her belly....perhaps a mini hot water bottle...NOT filled with boiling hot water....but just hot tap water?? Please be careful with this suggestion...try it on yourself first for at least 10 minutes or more to assure it's not too hot.
Good Luck, and don't overdo it with the gripe water...it can be bad in large doses. peanutrocks -

Thursday, 28 May One thing that has worked for me is to put a warm towel on my lap/crib and lay her there on her belly and rub her back. it's easier in the crib and then if she falls asleep you don't have to move her (although she's not on her back but sometimes you got to do what you got to do). Hope it helps, a good does of gripe water has worked wonders too, 1sttimemom25 -
