My mood while writing this blog: Sick to my stomach |
Oh my god ladies I had one of the scariest experiences with Ava today.... I will start from the begining.....
We had a guy out today to clear our drains and he came through the house with his equipment to the back yard. He cleared them in record time and was gone within 20 mins. Myself and my husband were in the middle of a big clean and were really getting stuck into it, Ava was in her walker in the living room playing happilly when she started crying. Well it was 1pm and this is when she usually goes for her afternoon nap so I took her up to her crib but she screamed the house down...............I mean she sounded like a wild animal. I thought she was just over tired so I tried to leave her for a few mins and then it was getting worse so I took her downstairs and gave her a drink...............she was still screaming like a wild animal so I gave her some calpol thinking it was her teething causing her pain. So I took her back up to bed and the screaming started again this time worse, I thought she was too hot so took off her babygro and realised it was stuck to her feet. I took it off gently and took a look at her feet and nearly vomited. He skin on her toes were melted and black and her nails were lifting. I ran to the bathroom to throw up and screamed for my husband....he took one look and said the plumber must of spilled something in the living room when he passed through..... I was at this stage histericle. We rang the guy and he said it was caustic soda and that we should bath her feet in cold water and get her to the ER asap..... I was terrified. The water gave her some relief and she fell asleep in the back of the car.....my brave little angel. The docs saw us right away and said she had chemicle burns and that she would loose her toe nails....my poor brave baby was so brave. The washed her feet with a saline drip over and over and she never complained, it must of felt nice. They kept her for observation for a couple of hours and then sent us home and told us to come back wed morning. The doc said if I had not of removed her babygro when I did she probably would of lost her toes....do you know how sick that made me feel. I wanted to throw up right there and then. I dont know what possessed me to take her babygro off but I just got an overwhelming urge to do it, thank god I did...she obviously has a very special guardian angle looking out for her. It makes me feel sick to my stomach to think what might have happened if I didnt take it off....Oh god. When we can back I looked at the feet of the babygro and they are eaten away and black....oh my god...my poor baby.Thank god it wasnt worse...any way ladies my baby is calling me need to go get some cuddles with my brave girl. xxxx

Monday, 26 Oct Oh my god, that just brought me to tears! I was having the hardest time reading that to my husband because I could only imagine the heartbreak and fear you had and still do!!!! I mean, I just don't know what I would do had that happened to Laya! Ava is so amazing to get through such an incident. An episode like that her in the states would cost that plumbing company big in law suits!!!! I just feel for you so much. I wish I could give you a huge hug for getting through it and being such a good mom to act as you did. This family sends lots of love and big hugs to your family! Ava is one special and strong lil pumpkin!!!! bencharlie11 -
Monday, 26 Oct Oh my God I am sitting here holding my breath and my heart is pounding. The poor little thing, I would be into that drain office tommorrow and wreck the place... I would kill that man with my bare hands, he was doing a job were there was a child so he should have been extra careful with the chemicals he was using, I would get a good solicitor/lawyer if I were you and sue sue sue the ass off them..... I really hope that your little one is ok and not in too much pain. Please give her a cuddle from me, you are a great mom and she is so luck to have you by the sounds of it. I will be so thinking of you all. Please keep in touch and let us know how she is. If there was anything I could do for you I would but I am so far away but what I can do is say a prayer for her and keep you in my thoughts, stay strong all my love xxxxxx Nikki1606 -

Monday, 26 Oct it was your mommy instinct that made you take it off, whether you realized it or not. That is terrifying. I would have thrown up, too! Seeing your child in pain is worse than being in pain yourself. I am so glad you caught it before it was worse! Give her a big hug for me!
