13-12-2008 - Baby Benjamin OkMy mood while writing this blog:
Ok

Benjamin is here! Born Monday December 1st. We woke up at 5am to call the hospital to see what time we should come in. They said as soon as we can, being it was almost a 2 hour ride we got there at 8. We went to the process and was into a bed and hooked up to the monitors and iv's. The one Dr came in and told me they wouldnt be doing my c section until 1pm!! So there we were having to wait. Finally at 12:40 they took me in to the operating room. My blood pressure was sky high 210/117. As soon as they gave me the spinal my BP plummeted down. They had to give me something again to raise it back up. They put my catheter in and started the procedure before allowing my husband to come in. It seemed to take forever until I finally heard that they were close. Then the best moment in the world was hearing him cry. They took him over to the warmer and cleaned him up and put saran wrap around it and a plastic bag over him up to his chest to protect the Omphalocele. They then lifted him up so we could see him before taking him to the NICU. He weighed 7lbs 4 oz and was 19 1/4 inches long.
