April 24 2008 16 week appointment

This was my third visit to the doctors. I saw Dr Wilcox, He was the Dr who I saw through my miscarriage. I was excited again to hear the heartbeat but kind of nervous they wouldnt be able to hear again. He was very happy to see me there pregnant. He asked if there were any concerns or problems, Thank God NO! So again the time was here for the heartbeat. He placed the doppler on my belly and BAM not even a second I hear this wonderful fast swooshing!! The babys heartbeat ranged between 160-165!!! He said it sounded great and I will get to make my appointment for my 20 week ultrasound. I will get to see my angel again and find out what I am having!! I cant wait. OH my Dr also wanted me to go for a 1 hour glucose test early because I have pcos. Well, I failed the test! Its was 158. So I had to go for the 3 hour glucose test.. That wasnt fun. I was there 4 hours they took a fasting blood test and I had to give a urine test. They gave me the drink then in 1/2 hour they took blood again and I had to give another urine test. Then in 1/2 hour another blood test and urine sample. Then 1 hour same, both blood and urine and finally 1 hour the last blood and urine sample!!!! SO i will find out the results tomorrow.

Well I found out my results. The Nurse said I dont have Gestational Diabetes. I had one high blood test out of the five. In order to be diabetic I have to have more than one high. PHEW!! so I am happy for now. I will have to repeat the test when I am 28 weeks along.
