| 18-3-2009 - First Pre-natal Appointment | My mood while writing this blog:Tired |
DH and I had our first official scheduled pre-natal appointment this afternoon, we first meet with the clinical nurse specialist who gathered our family history and gave us a bag full of packets/reading material. We felt it was pretty pointless seeing the CNS since it’s only been 1 ½ since my last pregnancy, we already had all the information still fresh in our minds and they should have had our family history information. After that I meet with a midwife she did an internal exam, everything looked good, no sign of blood or fluid near my cervix, cervix is nicely closed, the results from my ultrasound confirmed the baby is okay and right on schedule, my uterus feels the correct size for 9 weeks and then she sent us to the lab for the normal pregnancy blood tests. The midwife didn’t have an explanation for the bleeding and the clotting earlier in the pregnancy, she said she could give guesses but it could just be the way my body deals with pregnancy. The midwife said my back pain should lessen as the baby grows and my uterus tilts forward since I have a tilted uterus the extra pressure/weight is currently pushing on my back. I have my next pre-natal appointment on April 15th, hopefully at that time we’ll be able to hear the baby’s heartbeat with the doppler, I’ll also be 13 weeks (second trimester) and REALLY hope the nausea and vomiting have passed!
DS is doing well, he’ll be 18 months on April 2nd, we think he’s teething due to the diaper rash and increase of bowel movements…not looking forward for the fussiness to kick in. DS enjoyed his play date with Grandma while DH and I were at the doctor’s, grandma had DS outside for almost 3 hours making for one EXTREMELY happy little boy…he was in bed shortly before 7pm last night :0).
For those interested the baby is about the size of a pinto bean and is approximately 14 to 20 mm long.
I apologize for not keeping up with everyone's posts/messages, there is just a lot going on right now, my grandmother passed away last week, we had her funeral on Monday, freelance work is keeping me busy, I'm forever chasing after little man and I'm also fighting fatigue. Please don't take it personally if it takes me forever in a day to respond, I just don't have much motivation to write lately or even spend a lot of time on the site.
