Heartbeats
One belief that has been around for some time, and even had some acceptance
in the medical community at one point, is that the fetal heartbeat differs for boys and girls. If you're having a girl, then the fetal heart rate will be above 140. A boy will have a heart rate below 140. However, that pesky science has reared its little head again to say that this is complete fiction. A baby's heart rate is not affected by its sex until it is born, when a girl's heart rate will increase considerably compared with boys during labor.

Diapers

For those wanting to stock up on diapers, my son usually falls in the 50% tile for weight, below is a rough idea on how long your little one will be in each size diaper. We average about 7-10 diapers a day.

1 week old = 8lbs 5oz
4 weeks old = 10lbs 5oz
8 weeks old = 11lbs 12oz
4 months old = 15lbs 3 oz
6 months old = 18lbs 1oz
9 months old = 21lbs
12 months old = 23lbs
15 months old = 27lbs
18 moths old = 29lbs
