| 13-7-2009 - 25 Weeks | My mood while writing this blog:Catching up on Work |
I reached the 25 week milestone, meaning from this point forward if I’d go into labor with Hayden and nothing could be done to stop pre-term labor his chances of survival is high, not that I think this would happen but I breathed a sigh of relief with both my pregnancies when I reached this week.
HAYDEN UPDATE
I’m a few days late on posting my pre-natal appointment update but I just haven’t been in the mood for much other then the necessary tasks of the day/week. I had my appointment on July 8th, I’ve gained 12 pounds thus far (5 ½ in the last four weeks) and Hayden’s heart rate was 145 bpm, I had my follow up ultrasound first to measure the growth of the baby, to get another look at the placental lakes and I had the technician take another sneak peek between the legs to confirm we’re still having a boy. After my ultrasound I meet with the midwife, she reviewed the results of the ultrasound with us, she didn’t see any reason for concern from the placental lakes but has ordered another ultrasound for 34 weeks to be positive it won’t cause any problems during delivery. She also said Hayden’s estimated weight is 1lbs 13oz and he’s already measuring in the 68 percentile (Benjamin, my first born is off the charts for his height), the midwife also answered a few questions and concerns I had which allowed me to leave this appointment more calm and not having the overwhelming feeling of wanting to change OB practices. I have to go the health campus in three weeks for the 1 hour glucose test, RhoGAM shot and blood tests, my midwife also said that at every appointment they’ll pay extra close attention to Hayden’s growth, heart rate and fluids externally because of the placental lakes.
Hayden has become the little mover, his kicks are becoming stronger and more painful at times and there have been a few occasions that he’s kicked my bladder and I felt like I was going to pee myself…the joys of pregnancy! In general I’m feeling okay, I’m slowing down, more tired, still suffering from back pain and ligament pain from time to time, but that’s all normal pregnancy symptoms.
BENJAMIN UPDATE
We moved Benjamin into his big boy room and twin bed, surprisingly he handled the twin bed like a champ with no problems at all! After we had the room painted, border on the wall and furniture assembled we left the door open to allow him to get use to the room which seemed to have been the key because one day for nap I told him it was time to go to bed and he crawled into his new big boy bed. I would have allowed him to sleep in there at that time but the dresser and night stand hadn’t been strapped to the wall with a wall hook and I had this fear of him pulling a piece of furniture on top of himself, I called my husband and told him he needed to pick up hooks on the way home from work so we could give the big boy room a try that night. I prepared myself for a long sleepless night but much to my delight Benjamin crawled right into his new bed and didn’t wake up during the night.
Aqua tots is going well, Benjamin is having a blast in the pool, still unsure of himself when we practice the back float in the “deep” pool but has no problem demonstrating in his kiddie pool at home. Last Saturday I sat out and watched while my husband worked with Benjamin, my bathing suite has become too tight, I’m too cheap to buy a maternity swim suite and too conservative/self conscious for a bikini, plus the instructor has us due a lot of lifting our kids out of the water and catching them as they jump (or our case pushed) in the water which was too difficult for me and my husband was doing most of the class participation anyway.
We took Benjamin to Hershey Park on July 2nd, he had a BLAST! Benjamin was able to ride far more rides them myself and was shocked how well he did on all of them, I honestly didn't mind that I couldn't ride most of the rides, I enjoyed taking pictures (until my battery died...stupid preggo brain forgot to charge it) and watching Benjamin's reactions. I will admit hubby and I kept looking at the roller coasters longing to go on one...we had aWONDERFUL, WONDERFUL day!
I had three friends give birth this month, it's given me the major itch for Hayden's arrival, I can't wait to hold my little one in my arms and introduce him to daddy and big brother!
