| 27-9-2009 - 36 Week Update | My mood while writing this blog:Getting close to the end! |
I had my 36 week prenatal appointment on September 23rd, I’ve gained 21 lbs thus far, Hayden’s heart rate was 145 BPM, and I had the strep B swab done. I was noticing an increase in wetness on Wednesday, I wasn’t sure if it was vaginal discharge or if my water had broke and was slowly leaking (the midwife broke my water right before I started pushing with Benjamin and can’t recall the feeling), I asked my midwife to check to make sure everything was okay and since I had been experiencing irregular contractions that were unpainful to semi-painful at times if she would also check my cervix since I was already undressed and in an uncomfortable position. I’m 1cm dilated & 60% effaced, I was glad to hear the news to confirm I wasn't imagining things and there really is somthing going on down there...I know, I know I can walk around like this for weeks before giving birth.
Overall I'm feeling pretty good, ha-ha not that Benjamin would allow me to sit around and feel miserable if I wanted to ;). I'll honestly be surprised if I go past 39 weeks (I probably just jinxed myself), I've been having an increase in contractions, Hayden's already dropped and having other symptoms I had a week or two before I went into labor with Benjamin. I'm REALLY hoping to give birth on October 10th, I'd be tickled blue because like DH and I the boy's birthday would be exactly 2 years and 8 days apart, Ha-ha- October 9th I'll be trying every trick in the book to naturally induce labor ;). I think DH's more anxious about Hayden arriving then I am, don't get me wrong I'm excited but I kind of know what I'm in for this time around so I'm a little reserved about being in a hurry to get him out. This pregnancy has been more painful then with Benjamin's but as far as my belly size, rotation into the head down position, start of dilation and over all growth, the pregnancies have been very similar.
I uploaded belly photos, 2 year photo of Benjamin (I can't believe my little boy will be two on Friday) & pictures of Hayden’s nursery in my photos for anyone that is interested in taking a peak.
