09-5-2008 - To My Unborn Daughter

My mood while writing this blog: Blessed

*To my unborn baby girl:*

* I'm sitting here, 37 weeks and 3 days pregnant, daydreaming about you. It brings tears to my eyes. I feel so blessed to feel you move around inside me. To feel your heels and knees poke my sides, and feel your tiny little bum sticking out at the top of my belly :)
* I'm constantly dreaming of who you'll look like the most. I think you'll take after your daddy more than you will me. I'm sure you'll have a head full of dark hair when you're born - just like I did. I'm sure your skin will be an olive color, just like your daddy's. You'll be long and lean, just like your daddy. The only thing I'm hoping you don't get from daddy are his ears! They stick out a little bit :) But even if your ears do stick out a little, I'd still love you with all my heart, mind, and soul. Your eyes, I'm sure, will be a mix of chocolate brown with gold and green specs. I see you with big lips like mommy. Even on your ultrasound pictures, I could spot that big bottom lip right away! You'll be a pouter, I'm sure, and use those big lips to your advantage! It always worked for me, and I'm sure they'll work even better for you!
* Daddy loves to snuggle up to my belly as close as he can, and cover it with his hands and cheeks. He kisses you all the time.. Do you notice? Can you feel them? He's constantly talking to you. Can you hear him? Lately, he's been telling you to be nice to mommy, but only because my hips hurt so bad. But I don't want you to stop moving! It's a comfort to feel you wiggling around, knowing you're alright and growing healthy. I don't get to see daddy as much as I'd like to, because he's working so much. And even though I know he'd rather stay home with us, he wants to work and be able to support us, and be able to spoil you once you're born.
* We have your room all ready! Just need to get a crib mattress. But I'm not worried about that right now. You won't be in your crib for a few months. We'll have a bassinet in our room, next to my side of the bed. I hope you like it, and I hope it's comfortable. Your Grandpa Craig bought it for you.
* Papa & Nana are real excited to see you, too. Papa tries to feel you move, but I think you're a little shy, and you stop whenever somebody else puts their hands on my belly to feel you moving. Grandma Vickie is very excited, too. You're her first grandbaby! She bought you your crib, and a bunch of clothes. I don't think you'll need clothes until you're about 18 months old! We got lots of clothes from your baby shower, and an older lady at church gave us a bunch, that her daughter gave to her to give to you. I can't wait to dress you in all the cute little outfits we have. But boy oh boy is it gonna be a lot of laundry!
* You seem to be quite the hungry baby even now, in my belly. Dr. Williams said he thinks you'll be in the 7 pound range when you're born.. I sure hope he's right! But after everything we've been eating.. I'm not so sure! Please be nice and don't weigh anymore than 8 lbs.. please!
* Mommy & Daddy have your name all picked out for you, but we're trying to keep it a bit of a secret. Your initals are A.P.N. I hope you like your name. I think it's very unique. Daddy picked it out, but I changed the spelling. He's getting used to it though, and likes it just as much as me.
* We can't wait to meet you baby girl. Only 2 1/2 weeks to go! You're due Memorial Day (May 26th), but I'm hoping you'll be here sooner than that. I'm just so impatient, and very anxious to meet you!
* I love you so much already, and we still have yet to meet. I'm trying to be patient, just for you, so you have time to finish growing and developing. We love you so much.
