Okay "Wyatt" is not unusual, it's pretty popular right now actually. Anyways, don't let her bring you down. There are always people who say things about names and it really hurts I know. Try not to let it get to you. Wyatt is a beautiful baby name with a beautiful meaning. x

don't listen to her Wyatt is a not that unusual! I was going to pick Wyatt before we decided on Ethan! My daughters name is Arya!!!! That's a weird one. Your SIL needs to quit being jealous of such cool names!

I'm sorry this happened. I have to admit that sometimes the names people choose throw me off. My cousin has a son named Matthew and a son named John. Well she's pregnant again and she's going to name her next one Alastair if it's a boy and Aurora if it's a girl. Just doesn't quite go with the rest of the family lol.

Grrrrrrrrrrrr...I hate that! Even if they don't like it, or think it's "unusual", just say "awwww, how cute" or )something! It's not her baby so she can stick it. ;) My neighbors sons name is wyland... ok, it's different but I would NEVER say anything and God is he cute. Just like your little Wyatt is going to be!! :)

My sister doesn't like the name for our son. She thinks it sounds like a dogs name... Shepherd. Anyway! I know not everyone is going to like it. The most important thing is that we like it. Don't listen to your sister-in-law. This is your baby, not hers!

I have gotten the same thing for all 3 of my kids' names and I am sure to get it for this one as well. It is funny because our family members were so rude about the names and said that people would make fun of our kids. Of course people outside the family loved the names from the start. I wouldn't sweat it too much, I am sure that the name you have picked is perfect.

Ignorant....but not shocking, unfortunately. I have heard the same comments from my own family members on my choices and on what I have actually named my girls. I have gotten disgusted looks, head shaking, eye rolling, you name it. Screw em', not like we even asked their opinion. I don't ever remember needing their approval or permission,lol. Wyatt is adorable.

i know its hard not to be upset with her but just remember, it is YOUR child, your carrying him inside you, nurturing him and helping him to grow, and the choice for a name is YOURS (and hubby)... Let it go, if she makes another comment, I would tell her exactly that, this is OUR child, we like the name and we don't really care too much what others opinions are. Someone will always have something to say about any name you choose...

im SO annoyed!
we started telling people the name we picked out for the baby, and my husbands stupid sister- ALWAYS has to ruin it. i told her what the name is, and all she said was "Really??... thats unusual" so i said back , yeah well we like it.. and she says "well thats all that matters" what the hell is that?! she cant tell me she likes her nephews name, even if she doesnt. i know it shouldnt bother me.. but it does. my husband told me not to worry about it, that his sister is crazy and if it wasnt for her daughter, he probably wouldnt even talk to his sister. im just so annoyed right now. she always tries to bring everyone around her down... im so sick of it.
