| 20-2-2010 - Wyatt\'s Birth Story | My mood while writing this blog:happy |
i went to the dr wednesday morning at 9... where the dr told me i was only dialated to about a 1, and hardly effaced at all... so i went home thinking i wouldnt go into labor for at least another week. i went to walmart with my son and walked around and then went home and cleaned my house. when my husband got home we went grocery shopping and then came home and cooked dinner.
around 8 pm that night, i started feeling some cramping but brushed it off. when i noticed it was every 10 minutes or so, i told my husband that i thought i was having contractions every 10 minutes- but we both laughed it off with a `no way`... when they got to about every 7 minutes or so and starting to hurt.. i knew the baby was on his way. when i finally got to every 5 minutes, we called the dr and he told me to go to the hospital to get checked. we got to the hospital about 5 minutes later, around 12 midnight and by then my contractions were so intense- i almost passed out. i was dialted to about a 5 and they filled out all the paperwork and questions they needed to ask me- and at around 1 i was moved into the room across the hall. i was begging for an epidural- i didnt have one with my first son, but this time it just hurt so much more. they told me the dr had to be there first, and he was still on his way there. the dr got there at about 20 after 1, told me he was going to check me- told me i was a 7 and that i didnt have time for an epidural because they had JUST put my iv in about 2 minutes before and i needed at least one bag of fluids in my system.. which i wouldnt have in time. just as hes finishing telling me that- i felt the greatest sensation to push.. i thought i had to poop- so i was begging them to just let me get up to go to the bathroom-- the look on my husbands face was crazy- so i thought i had just gone all over the place... but it was the babys head- nothing was set up, the warmer wasnt on, the dr didnt have anything ready. him and the nurse were yelling at each other, i was screaming, my mom was crying, i thought my husband was going to pass out. not 2 pushes later wyatt was laying on my bed... it was like a scene out of a movie. everything just happened so fast, i couldnt believe it. i got a tiny laceration that needed one stitch.. 5 and a half hours from start to finish... a big difference from my 40 hour labor with my son, charlie. i felt completely fine after, they let us come home the next day. =o)
