| 02-6-2010 - 28 weeks 1 day | My mood while writing this blog:Getting better |
Hi Ladies,
Sorry for my absence over the last few weeks. Things got really crazy at work, but midnight Monday my cyber baby was born (the website was launched) and so things should be a bit less manic and I can start working some sensible hours.
So how have I been. Well not too great the last few days. Monday was a Bank Holiday here in the UK, but I had to work in order to get the site live. I had a toasted sandwich for lunch and some yoghurt which I probably scoffed down far too quickly. And it just sat in my stomach refusing to go down. I felt sick all afternoon, and when I got home in the evening I still felt sick. I made myself eat some dinner, but only ate a really very small meal. I went to bed at 11pm still feeling very sick - so much so that I went to bed with a bucket beside me just in case :-( I hardly slept at all that night and woke in the morning feeling even worse. The sickness was still there but accompanied by acid reflux and I had stomach cramps to go with it. I felt really sorry for myself. I called in sick at work and stayed in bed trying to get some more sleep. I got myself up at midday and moved down onto the sofa. I managed to eat a couple of slices of dry toast in the afternoon but still felt sick and refluxy tho the cramps had died down. I woke this morning still not feeling great, but feeling so much better than yesterday. I had my 28 week check up with the doctor this monring and explained how poorly I had felt yesterday. She prescribed me gaviscon for the reflux and said I probably had picked up a bug, and provided I continued to feel better not to worry as my blood pressure, pulse and urine were all spot on where they should be. I worked from home today in order to rest up a bit more, but will go back to the office tomorrow. I'm feeling so much better now, just a bit weak from not having eaten much in the last 48 hours. I think Peanut knew the website was done and so wanted to make a point that I now have to start thinking about him/her more and less about work - it sure did the trick!!!
The 28 week check up for Peanut went well. The doctor measured my tummy at 27 weeks - which is no surprise knowing how confusing my dates are! The heartbeat was nice and strong and Peanut is already in the head down position - I'm hoping it stays that way too!
The baby show at the NEC was great. We picked up lots of bits, but the main one being our Cot bed! It gets delivered in a couple of weeks - I can't wait to put it up and put the bedding on it!
I hope you are all keeping well.
Much love
Polly & Peanut
xx
