27-8-2010 - 5 weeks old

My mood while writing this blog: Still totally amazed!

Hi Ladies

Hope you are all well. Joss and I are doing great. I can't believe she is 5 weeks old already - time flys! Tuesday would have been her due date, so it was funny to be sitting here with a 4 and a half week old baby when I thought I'd be at least a week overdue.

Considering she was early, she is doing great. Her weight gain has been amazing, the last couple of weeks putting on almost a pound a week! She was 4lb12oz when born and when weighed yesterday she was 7lb3oz!

I had hoped to breastfeed, but she didn't have the sucking reflex when born and so was fed by tube and then put on bottles of my expressed milk. I haven't been able to get her off the bottles, but I have continued to express and so far have managed to express enough to not be having to give her any formula feeds. How long I will be able to do that for I do not know though as the little chunk-a-lunk takes 100-140ml per feed now! Quite a bit for me to keep up with!

Congratualtions to those of you who have recently given birth and good luck to those who are due to do so very soon. Also congrats to the new BFP's, especially RainbowRach annd Amy011. And tonnes of Baby dust for those TCC!

Must dash, I can hear Joss waking for a feed....
