07-11-2008 - RUBBISH MIDWIVES AND DOCTORS!!

My mood while writing this blog: Ok

I havent been feeling too good since week 35, been getting lots of b/h what dont hurt at the top of my belly then loads of really painful period type pains at the bottom, was also really worried as started been quite sick and felt really dizzy for a few days and hand and feet were huge! decided to go to doctors and he checked everything said it was all fine and i maybe just had a bug and lots of fluid in my hands and feet.

so had my 36 week midwife appointment on monday and it was a disaster!

firstly she checked blood pressure, babys heartbeat, and measurements all was good, (was measuring 37 weeks so about a week infront)

Then she said oh it says in here that the blood tests taken in september say ur very anemic, i said i knew that and she said well hasnt ur doctor and another midwife given you any iron tablets or vitamins? (i have seen a different midwife every time i have had an appointment) so i said no and that at my 16 week docs appt i asked doctor if i should be taking vitamins or something and he said not to bother, then when my midwife and doctor found out i was anemic they never did anything about it.

she then said that this was very dangerous as after i have given birth if a lose alot of blood or something, not having enough iron would be very dangerous for me and this is the reason iv been feeling dizzy and tired and ill, i was very upset that she was saying this and she just said go buy some iron tablets or something! (my mum was fuming when i told her so she rang our doctors up and he finally gave me some iron tablets) :)

she then went on to book my next midwife appointment and said my next one would be 1st december, i then said but i am due 27th november?! so she said oh right well thats the only date you can have so if you have any problems before then get intouch with someone.?!! she then rushed me out and i was so confused? i then realised when i got home that i dont even have a birth plan! the midwife at my 32 week appt said i would be doing it at my 36 week one so now i have no birth plan nothing! im so upset and am definetly going to ring up to complain and ask for another appointment.

Anyone else having a problem with theres? and what should i do about my birth plan? should i write my own?

im so confused and mad! x x
