18-9-2008 - Chris' Allergic Reaction

My mood while writing this blog: overwhelmed

Hello all, I pray each of you are doing well. Two days ago we had the biggest scare. On Monday night I noticed Chris Jr. had a few tiny bumps on his stomach, but they just look like his heat rash was coming back so I just put corn starch on the area and put him to bed. Through the night diaper change I noticed it was getting a little red, so I put more corn starch on it and put him back to sleep. Well the next moring he woke up from his morning nap and my baby face had red bumps all over it. I was so scared. I called the Dr. and when they got him in bumps were every where. He was all red and full of bumps. My poor baby had an allergic reaction to something. His dr. was no help, needless to say I am looking for a new pediatrician. By the time I got him home it was a mess. My husband and I took him to the ER immediately. They got him in ASAP. He had to get an IV, but his little veins blew 3x's, so they gave him a shot of steroids and benadryl. He still has bumps and redness, but it's looking a lot better. It's just so hard watching your child while their sick. I just wanted to take all the pain for my little baby.

Aww...Well I am glad he is okay and doing well. I will continue to pray for him, your husband and you. Continue to speak good health and long life over your child's life. He will be okay.

Oh, poor baby!!!! I know that must have been so hard for you to see...as he has been in the hospital LONG enough! I'm glad he is okay. I wonder what he was allergic to?
