11-6-2009 - stressed and mad...

My mood while writing this blog: irritated

so i am pretty sure i am about to lose my job....i work as a receptionist at a volvo machinery company with all men and i had only been here for about a month when i found out i was pregnant...well i have missed work from being sick, becuase of ob appointments and ultrasounds, when my son is sick i have to miss work and i have missed work at times because my babysitter was unreliable, and i have had to miss work when my son has to go to the doctor. It was no secret i had a small child when i started my job but of course men never think ahead at what that truly means so i am just getting a bad vibe from them today and i missed work yesterday becuase i had two appointments, then today i have to leave early because its my sons last day of school and they have a music concert and tomorrow i have an appointment i have to leave early for again and its almost always same time everymonth i have a few appointments and then im done for the month but they are not very understanding....so i could really care less beacause i am tired of working but my job is the extra money also which is how im planning on affording any baby stuff and saving some money so we will see......i just wish i worked with women who were actually somewhat understanding though, men dont get it, not one bit!!!

If you have a Dr's note, they should really think twice before firing you as to avoid pregnancy discrimination. So, just make sure you cover yourself with Dr's notes.

I know exactly how you feel. I'm having problems with my job also, but this is our extra money and I planned to buy all the things for my baby. I don't want a shower this time. I really hope things get better for you, just pray about it and everything will work out in your favor.

Do you have a Human Resourse department? Well you need to look into FMLA its called family medical leave act for women who are pregant.... Its federal law.. and you may even be able to get info from a website but honey they cant fire you because you are pregnant and have missed work.. You can have your doctor fill form out and use the term " intermitten" which means you may have to be off a day here or there before baby is born.... you get 12 weeks total and there is NOTHING they can do about it... Infact they would be sued.. But then again you can let them fir you and collect unemployment which oboma approved for 2 years now.. And you can stay home... Trust me.. the ball is in your court.... if they fire you you will also be able to transfer insurance over to state insurance which is great for having a baby and there also is a crap load of assistance for you and your family if you were to be fired... Everything happeneds for a reason.. remember that.. I went through all this with my work and it ended up for the better anyways... But try not to stress cuz you know thats not good for you or the baby.,.. Big hugs and keep me posted.... Jen

o man, i am so sorry that things at work are so sh*tty… ugh, i hate my job too and miss SO much work. probably cuz i just don’t care anymore. i hate it cuz i need the money but i can’t stand working here. i hope things get better and that these men will find a heart!!! good luck and let me know what happens…
