Friday, 12 Jun so sorry to hear that happen to you. make sure you find out why. I would also go and find out about unemployment. let us know what happens. good luck excitedmisty (misty) -
Friday, 12 Jun make sure you ask LOTS of questions when you go in...i use to work for Unemployment, and my husband still does...make sure you get the official date of termination (yesterday, or today), whether there is a severance package (some companies give you two weeks additional pay, pay out vacation you accrued, etc), and what the exact reason for termination is...also (i know, this is such a pain, but you might as well be a pain in the @ss too) but ask them for a termination letter...that letter can say it all...in the unemployment world there is a huge difference between quitting your job and being let go or having your position eliminated and when it comes down to adjudication it is your word against theirs!...if you quit your job, then you will rarely get unemployment...in my years at unemployment i only paid 1 person who quit their job! sorry to hear about the job loss, it's never a good thing...but if you get unemployment at least it's good for up to 56 weeks now! you would be surprised once you file for unemployment how your employer will change his tune (oh, no, she told me she wanted to quit, she never called into work to say she needed the day off, etc etc) keep a copy of all doctor's notes, and any phone records you have from calling off!
hang in there, losing a job is tough...it's not fun, but you really don't want to be at a place that is going to be that difficult to work with, esp. with another one on the way!
