| 12-11-2008 - Not so good day. | My mood while writing this blog:Sore |
Ok so where do I begin....
It all started last Wednesday when I went to my Dr's apt. for my 24 week check-up. I asked them to check and see if I had a UTI since I had been experiencing some burning here and there when I went to the bathroom. Yesterday I started having some lower back/pelvic pain and it kinda felt like it does when you have a UTI. I called the office yesteday to check and see if they had my test results in yet and they said they didn't have them all so I needed to call back today.
Well, This morning I started having the lower back/pelvic pain again. This time is was a little worse. I called the Dr. and they said that all my tests came back negative. I then told her how I was feeling and that I was in pain. She asked me to rate my pain and I told her it was around a 6, so she told me to go to the Labor and Delivery floor at the hospital.
I was so scared! I've never been in the hospital before! I started getting really freaked out while getting ready and was crying because I didn't want to go! I started re-thinking everything in my head, and thinking that maybe I was just over-reacting. I'm so happy Mike was off work today and there to make sure I went!
When we got there around 12pm, they put me in a room and hooked me up to all the monitors. After about an hour there they came in and told me I was having some contractions, and they gave me a shot to help relax me and stop the contractions. After a little while longer a Dr. came in and did some procedure on me (can't remember the name) that would determine wether or not the contractions would lead to pre-term delivery.
A little while later the nurse came in and told me they had found blood in my urine and wanted to put a catheter in to collect more urine to make sure that the previous urine wasn't just contaminated or anything. The catheter hurt so bad!! They were thinking that the reason I may have blood in my urine may be from a kidney stone! They also checked my cervix to make sure it was still closed, which it was! Thank goodness!
After a few hours of waiting the nurse and Doctor finally came in and said that that urine sample showed blood also. They said since my contractions had stopped, and not returned since the medicine had worn off, that they were going to let me go home, That was around 5:30pm. They said if I felt any more than 4 contractions in an hour or anymore pain to come right back.
They said they are still thinking it may be a UTI, but they had to run cultures on the urine sample and told me to call my Dr.'s office on Friday for the results. If there isn't a UTI, I'm supposed to go see a Urologist because I would probably more than likely have a kidney stone.
So needless to say it wasn't a good day! Mike and I were going to do the Addisyn's room today of course, but ended up in the hospital all day! Oh well, I'm just happy that everything is ok w/the baby and so far I'm ok too. I will just be ready to know what's going on!
Hope everyone else is doing good! I'll keep you updated!
