28-1-2009 - Hospital Trip

My mood while writing this blog: disappointed

Well I woke up this morning at 6:30am and noticed that my underware were pretty wet. After waking up Mike and making him check it out w/me I sat around for a little bit wondering if I should call the Doctor because I wasn't having contractions or anything, so I had no clue if it was my water breaking or not.

I called and they told me I could be leaking fluid so to come to L&D as soon as I could. (Did I mention we had a HUGE snow storm here and have over a foot of snow! The whole county is in a snow emergency! It took my poor husband 30 minutes to dig the car out! lol)

When we got there they did a 'Fern Test' to check and see if I was leaking amniotic fluid.

The Doctor came in and said that my water didn't break and because the weather was so bad she didn't want to send me home just in case but wanted to keep me for a while and monitor me because I was having pretty strong contractions. They were actually starting to hurt pretty bad so they gave me some meds to help me relax. They made me really really groggy and I ended up sleeping a few hours.

They checked me and I'm still 3-4cm dilated, and the Doctor said that if I was 37 weeks they would of probably just broke my water and admitted me for labor, but since I'm only 36 weeks 2 days they released me!

I'm so disappointed! I feel bad because my family live an hour away and decided to drive down because of how bad the weather was, they wanted to make sure they were they just in case something were to happen. So I hate they had to drive all the way down for no reason!

Oh well! I guess she'll come out when she's ready! The Doctor just told me if I start having stronger contractions, more than 6 in and hour, to call them back. So we shall see what happens!
