| 20-8-2009 - M-I-L Vent | My mood while writing this blog:hormonal??? |
How sad, my first blog on here is a vent about my mother-in-law and I'm not sure it would even bother me that much if I wasn't pregnant.
First I guess would be some back ground, during Thanksgiving last year, my soon to be mother in law made the comment that she didn't want me to come over for dinner at her mother's house because I don't have the right "upbringing". My m-i-l came from NOTHING and at the time had no idea what or where I came from, all she really knew was what she assumed. The first time she met me, she showed up at her son's house early one morning and I answered the door (opps) but we had been seeing each other for about a month and a half. Another 2 months went by and I married my husband, that was this past New Year's Eve (2008). She found out when his ex wife (who told him when we first started dating that if he intended on keeping me around to kep me away from his mom) called and told her that Peyton (their daughter) told her that "Daddy is in Tennessee marrying Ms Rachel." My family and all of his family (including the mother I couldn't meet) knew where and what we were doing except her.
She has made it clear that she doesn't accept me or my daughter unless it looks good on her part (kind of an "oh look this is my son and his wife and her "abandoned" child" situation). The funny part is that she brags about her son having twins on the way and most of the time her friends don't even know about ME. Anyway, she told everyone (my hubby and his family) that she would try to mend fences with me and yada yada then she continues to make comments about how she will do things with Sammi (my 2 yr old) if she HAS to. Anyway, her "good" son got engaged the 4th of July and we got an invitation to the engagement party that is being hosted by my mil and fil. I guess it just hurt my feelings because she has never even acknowledged that me and Josh are even married, the only time it comes up is if we (me and my hubby) run into someone she knows in the store or out somewhere, especially now when I am obviously pregnant.
Whew, I think this has just been a loooong rambling rant but I tried to keep it in perspective and in some kind of order. I guess it just boils down to I needed to vent and maybe get a few opinions that have no stake in the situation.
