15-7-2010 - My Lil girl is learning so much

OMG.....I can't believe how much my lil girl has grown already. I can't believe how much she has learned and what she can do now. Here it is July 15th, she will be 7 months on July 21....just a few short days.
When she was 5.5 months old she gained her first 2 teeth. I am not talking the teeth barely poking thru or noticeable., I'm talking full on teeth. 2 weeks prior she had a dr appointment and ehr dr mentioned she was teething. She was drooling a lot extra and was gumming everything but never once had a fever or acted like she was in pain...so I figured it was the beginning stages. Little did I know she was teething full force. She woke up one Tuesday morning 2 weeks later with a bottom left tooth....I was shocked! Yet so excited! The very next day she woke up and BAM! Tooth number 2 was there..on her bottom right. By now I was really shocked. I called my husband to tell him and he said " Are you sure it's not one really big tooth? " I was like NOPE....it's 2 seperate teeth. When he got home from work he saw just what I was talking about. that was a lil over a month ago and guess what?? She's teething AGAIN! Yep, she is drooling everywhere and gumming absolutly everything possible. If it's a repeat of last time she should have another tooth ( or 2) within the next week or 2.
Abbigail has also learned how to hold objects in her hand and alternate from one hand to the other. her toy keys are her absolute favorite thing to play with. her 2nd favorite would probably be this book I got her that makes a crinkly noise like the paper on the exam tables at the Dr office. She can also sit up now! She can't sit all day, but she has made it 23 minutes before she leans forward. Once she leans forward she kinda sits on a half sit/half leaning position for another 10 minutes or so before she either falls over or cries to be on her tummy cause she is uncomfortable and aggrivated. She can not get from the sitting position to the lying position ( unless she topples over).
As for crawling?? Not there yet. Abbie can get her lil legs under her herself to where her butt is sticking up in the air and she can lift up on her hands/arms as if she is doing push-ups. But she can not seem to lift her belly up off the ground and get in the all 4 position yet. But boy does she try! She gets aggrivated cause she jsut can't figure it out. So..she does the next best thing....she rolls and scoots ALL OVER the room. She will even get in her push up position and move by pushing her arms forward. This girl is a mover!! even in her sleep. I put her in the criba nd when she gets up she has done a complete 360 and is facing in a completly opposite direction. Don't even bother changing her diaper without having to fight to get it on. She will not lay still for a diaper change. In fact, she is sneaky. She will pull her own legs up as if to say " mom I'm gonna let you slide the diaper under me and I will cooperate". but thats where it ends...next thing you know she is wiggling and twisting in all directions. And yes..there has been a couple of occasions her diaper ahs not been on tight enuff and it fall half way off because of this. Bob now hates changing her diaper cause she wriggles so much. The girl is NEVER still! When she does start crawling?? We will be in trouble!
Food: She is eating solids now! Once or twice a day ( depending on if I work that night and how busy ehr day has been) If I work nights she only gets solids once as Bob hasn't felt comfortable feeding her solids yet. If her day has been extra busy she just wants a bottle and sleep. Anyways, she LOVES Peaches Sweet potatoes, bananas and Carrots. She does not like rice or oatmeal and apples or applesauce. She does like pears but I've given them to her twice now and she had a bat of the runs afterward. So no more pears for a while...something about them her lil digestive system can't handle. The Dr did tell me that with ehr protein intolerance she is 2x more likely to have a food allergy or some type of food she can't handle. So far pears is the only thing she can't eat. She will also eat peas, squash, yogurt, green beans. She likes them..but not nearly as much as them carrots! LOL
She is finally healthy enuff to get shots! She recieved her 2 months shots when she was 5 months old. tomorrow she goes in for another check up and will receive her next round of shots. ( may as well say 7 mos old). She will get more shots at 9 months old and then he said she will be caught up. so...2 month shots at 5 months, 4 month shots at 7 months and 6 month shots at 9 mos and then we are good.
Her last dr appointment was 2 weeks ago ( i thought she had an ear infection so we went to the walk-in. She didn't have one thankfully). Anyways, she was up to 13p 6 ozs at that appointment. She finally grew out of 0-3 month clothes, but she is wearing size 2 diapers and 3 month or 3-6 month clothes. 3 month clothes fit ehr perfect...3-6 month clothes are still big on her, but I put her in some anyways. She is growing and finally gaining..which is a good thing! But she is still tiny and much smaller than most 7 month olds. She is at least 5 pounds behind. But considering the health issues and the 2 weeks in Children's hosp I say she is doing well! Dr said she may always be on the smaller size but she is doing so much better than anyone thought. Even the Dr is amazed at how well she is doing and the comeback she has made! Looking at Abbigail you would never know she is nearly 7 months ( size wise). But when developmental delays were expected due to ehr previous problems?? None have occured. She does all the things a normal 6-7 month old should do. She even has teeth already!
We are on a routine now and she adjusts well to an extra busy day or even a slite switch. nights I work she has a slitly different routine with Bob than she does me, but it doesn't seem to bother her at all. Over the next month I am expecting a few slite issues with her as her routine will get messed up for a while. There will be one week we are in New Jersey visiting the In-Laws. We are all psyched about this trip! Then, I will start back to college ( after taking a break last semester) on Aug 16. She will not go to daycare but one of my good friends will watch her on the 3 days I have classes. So 2 days a week she will be on her normal routine with me, but 3 days a week ehr and Crystal ahve to get on a routine that fits them...so she will have to get used to it. But I knwo she will be ok and will. Crystal said she will keep her on as much of a routine as we do here at home as possible...though I know it will be altered some cause Crystal also has her 3 year old and cause Abbie's morning will start much earlier on the days I go to class. So..jersey one week and school folowing right after? It will throw her some but she adjsuts well and will be fine.
Still can't believe how much she has grown and learned! As for Alexis?? She will be starting 4th grade on Aug 18 and will be 10 in September! it doesn't seem right.....how can she be in 4th grade and in double digits???
