25-7-2008 - Ultrasound and OB appt. 7/22/08

What a busy week...I've been working a camp for students with Autism/Aspergers and it's been a blast, but also tiring. Tuesday, I was able to leave work 2 hours early to get to my OB and U/S appt on time!

Just a quick funny story from last week, I took my son to my job at the school district I work for. I had to pick up some things from the Human Resources Dept. and he made sure to tell them "Mommy is having 2 babies. Look at her BOOBIES!! (as he was touching them)." The three ladies got a laugh....I said, "I told him not to embarrass me." They were probably thinking..."How can a social worker's kid say that?!" LOL!

Back to my appt. Once there, I got to see my babies! I posted pics!! One baby looks bigger than the other - they're actually the same size...it's how I cropped the pic. The babies are doing great....growing like beans...great heartrates (Baby A = 160, Baby B = 151) and cute as ever! The ultrasound tech asked me what I thought they were.....I told her....and she didn't say a thing. HMMMM..... I'm hoping we might find out at my next U/S in two weeks since my hubby and son will be there! If not, it will definitely be on August 19th! I can't WAIT!!! My guess....Baby A is Daddy's little girl and Baby B is my little boy! I guess I should share the best news of my appt.....my cervix hasn't changed ONE BIT!! YAY....so far, sooooo goood! No need for a cerclage yet!

My doc is great! He had the nurses check my sugar levels and do my blood pressure, etc. so that I didn't have to walk over to the high risk clinic to have that done. It made things REAL convenient!! I'm really happy with the hospital system I chose. So far, all of the nurses, my high risk doctor and the ultrasound techs are GREAT!! It's a little further from home and we pass the dreaded HUGE hospital where my son was born, but definitely worth the drive!!

I'm feeling pretty good overall. The heat's definitely getting to me...but I'm trying to push as many fluids as I can! I'm still practicing my newfound skill at belching (LOL), having headaches 3-5 days per week, difficulty sleeping, and feeling lightheaded once in a while if I stand for long periods of time. Oh, I feel pressure down there....not like stretching...I get that too, but it doesn't worry me. The doc says everything is FINE so I just have to remind myself that!! Last news of the day...TODAY WAS MY LAST DAY TAKING MY PROGESTERONE SUPPOSITORIES!! Hip Hip HOORAY!!! That's HUGE news for a few reasons...1) I no longer have to wear pads...I swear I looked funny buying them at Walgreen's being prego and all; and 2) bc I would have to do it at 4:30 a.m., 3:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. (the same times every day) and lay down for 30 minutes afterwards. I picked those times bc they fit around my work schedule....I can't wait to sleep until 9 a.m. tomorrow and not have to wake up! WAIT, who am I kidding...I'm up at least 1-2 times a night peeing!!! Oh well, I'm going to CHERISH the next 4 weeks of no shots, suppositories, etc. bc before I know it 18 weeks will be here and I'll be starting weekly Progesterone shots.

Congrats! I am so happy to hear that all went well. Your son is too cute. Twins have got to be so amazing. I can not wait to hear what you are having.

Congrats on everything going well, I'm happy for you. And don't kids say the craziest things. lol.
I remember one time my son wanted candy @ the grocery store and I said no. So he cried outloud & said how hungry he was, and how I never feed him or give him good food. Good food to him was candy lol. It's funny now but back then I was embarrassed.
Again congrats on everything going well.. Keep us all posted =)
