| 08-9-2008 - Doc's Appointment =] | My mood while writing this blog:I\'m good |
Had a decent day today, Jeff and I went to my Ob/Gyn appointment today. They never told me I was going to do that test for diabetes, but something told me they were going to, so I came prepared and didn't eat anything until it was finished. Jeff for once actually socialized with everyone in the waiting room. Normally he hates it when people he doesn't know try to talk to him especially at my appointments, but today he was the ever social bug of the day =] The orange sweet stuff they made me try didn't taste the worst, just an extremely sugary drink. They gave me a timer that was set for an hour, which wasn't as bad as we thought. Jeff and I were minding our business, but this little four year old boy was saying the funniest things that we couldn't keep a straight face, so Jeff start having an conversation with this kid's dad, they play the same online video game, World of Warcraft and were giving each other's server name and user names to chat some more. Then he started talking to this older mom because her two year old boy was being extremely funny to, we mainly talked about her little boy. I know in the past he never wanted a son and just wanted a daughter, but I think he's now extremely happy about our son and can't wait to meet him.
Well, the timer hadn't gone off and thirty minutes to go, so they decided to go ahead and do the regular check up stuff. She came in told me I had a little bit of blood in my urine, but told me she didn't think I'd need antibotics, I know I'm suppose to trust my doctor, but I felt that she should of given me the meds to be on the safe side. So now I'm just going to trust her on this and hope perhaps it will clear up on its own. So lets pray its not a UTI and have to go to Labor and Delivery because of poor judgement on her call. I dunno. Well, I've gained only 16 pounds during this whole pregnancy, I hope that's considered okay for 28 weeks, I'm glad I haven't gained a whole lot and looks like everything I gained is in the tummy. Little one couldn't be the little devil he usually is and run from the fetal doppler like he's been doing for the past few appointments, because he's bigger, haha. Right now I believe from what she said she said he's in the transverse position. I see movements and feel them and all, but I have no idea how people are able to tell what positions the baby is in without a ultrasound, but that's me, lol. I'm just ignorant, lol. Well, I can sorta tell, where he's poking at, but couldn't tell you how he's laying inside.
Then we discussed birth plans, I've decided to go with the epidural and then my doctor asked Jeff if he wanted to cut the baby's cord and he said he wanted to, so that's what is going to happen. I had to discuss having mitral valve prolapse because its a heart condition I have that I never shared with her. Some dentist require you to take antiboitics before they do anything and thought something as big as going into Labor and delivering my child, I wasn't sure if they would require for me to take antiboitics. Doctor told me they used to when they were going by the old guidelines, but in the new guidelines they don't. She says it all depends who is there when I give birth. Doctors are all different and some still go by the old ways. Then we discussed how many people can be in the room, I really just want me and Jeff, but I'm contemplating on inviting my mother in the room. Since the doctor said I can have up to three people of my choice. But I dunno, I might just want to share this big special moment just with Jeff since its our child.
After the regular checkup we went back into the waiting room for the timer to go off and an old friend of mine named Kymber came in the room, I knew she was pregnant, but never knew we had the same doctor. So I was extremely happy to see her. She's due in 8 weeks!!! We talked only a little bit because after the timer went off I had to get my blood drawn I guess to check for diabetes, and had to also to get blood drawn to get checked for iron deficiency. Then after that we headed out, Jeff got me some Mc Donald's and dropped me back my at my place to get some rest and he went back home to his city, which is a long hour and so away. My son's movements have slowed just a tiny bit, but he's still a little hellion, lol!! Though they are not as often as they were and believe me they used to happen just about non stop, he's big enough to hurt me a lot. Like a couple days I wasn't able to walk upright for a few hours and was slouched over because of the awkward position and would not move for the life of me until I took a really warm shower and laid down to relax my muscles and just like that he moved. Doctor said if he does that again to put a frozen bag of peas or whatever that's cold and that would get him to move. He's a really naughty baby, but of course I absolutely love him, though he still has no name yet due to his father GRRRR...
Well, sorry for my long update, but just felt one was needed =] I haven't been able to talk a lot of the details that's been going on and starting to regret I have barely recorded anything, at least for my memory's sake. And perhaps for my son to look back and see all that's happened when I was pregnant with him. Well, hope everyone is doing good and hope that GD test comes back saying I don't have diabetes, because that'd suck.
