| 10-11-2009 - Surprise Ultrasound - take 2 | My mood while writing this blog:Awesome! |
I went to the Dr yesterday to have this ultrasound done. My Dr's clinic had just purchased their own ultrasound machine and the tech from the company was there and performed the ultrasound, while my Dr and two other Dr's from the clinic watched. It was just awesome! While I was in the waiting room baby was wiggling and squirming around, but about five minutes before I went in, she stopped. She obviously fell asleep, and the tech said 'this is the BEST baby to look at' because she was stying still and he didn't have to chase her around to get the angles he wanted.
Basically, he was teaching them what to look at, what to measure, how to measure, how to find certain things, etc etc. So he measured everything, head, arms, legs, looked at the hands and feet, heart, looked at the heart chambers and ventricles, brain thingies, bum (oh my god, soooo cute!) fanny (for those of you who are in the US, fanny in Australia means girls parts) stomach, umbilical cord insertion, and they even did detailed measurements of the placenta, my cervix, the mucus plug and my bladder, they looked at my kidneys and my vagina and my own heart ventricle and they looked at my spine! Best of all, he did heaps of angles of baby's face, oh that little button nose, my heart just melted!
When he was finished, he gave the thing they put on your tummy to my Dr so she could have a go so we got to look at everything all again, and then it was passed to the next Dr, and then the next! I was in there for over an hour looking at every angle possible of my little girl while they all had a play of their new machine!
The main reason I was the guinnea pig was because Dr couldn't tell if baby was head down or what. The tech established within five seconds that baby is in fact head down. Now I realise why the feelings in my tummy have changed I suppose!
They said everything is perfect. Baby measured spot on for 28 weeks and a few days. Seeing her again has made any worries, aches and pains fly right out the window!
I can't wait for the 3D ultrasound on the 21st so Chris can see her! It's going to melt his heart, I just know it!!!
My baby rocks!! hahahahahahahaha!! Thank you Lord! I am so happy!
Happy Days Indeed!
Tanya.
