20-7-2009 - Week 12 & Survey BORED at work.My mood while writing this blog:
BORED at work.

Wow, made it to the three month mark!

I'm not sure why everything is highlighted green, I think it's the survey at the bottom that I copied. Ahh well, you can't help bad luck, and I don't mind green anyways!

I've started thinking about baby's room, and I ALMOST bought a jumpsuit on Sunday, but I didn't let myself! Is anyone else thinking about the baby's room yet? I feel really excited about making the room up and putting the cot together etc (I have a whole heap of hand-me-down stuff already). I am really desperate to start making a space in our home for this special little person!

Do you guys think it's too early to be converting our study into baby's room? I would really appreciate some opinions. When do you think is a good time to start preparing? I suppose as I have no other kids, and I work 4 days a week I have not only the inclination but also the time to start doing stuff. I can already picture things in my head.

At the very least, everything is on hold (including my breath and sex life) until after the scan on Friday. So I suppose there's the confession; we haven't had a nookie since I found out I'm pregnant!!! I assure you all it's a mutual thing. If something goes wrong, I can honestly and wholeheartedly say that I did nothing wrong to cause it! I can feel things between Chris and I are getting to the point where we won't be able to hold back much longer. You know somethings gotta give, and the way I've been feeling lately I know it'll be me! I was having some darn scary dreams, but now they all seem to be about sex! Remember the Madonna song "Like a virgin" well that's how I'm feeling! There maybe cobwebs down there!!!!

Well, that's about it for now. Nothing doing and nothing's changed. Feeling fine and dandy and just desperate for Friday to come so I can see my little baby alive and well!

Here's a survey I copied from a friend, you can copy it too, it's just for a bit of fun :-)

Pregnancy Survey

About You
Age?: 32
Height?: Average (not sure!)
Pre-pregnancy weight?: A voluptuous 79kg's

About The Father

Name?: Chris
Relationship?: Defacto (12 year anniversary next week)
Age?: 41
Height?: Taller than me

About Your Pregnancy
Is this your first pregnancy?: No, but hopefully my first baby :-)
When did you find out you were pregnant?:Honestly, I don't know the date! It was the end of May 2009. I know when we had the 'conceiving nookie'!!!!!!!!!!
Was it planned?: Yes and no, we'd stopped 'trying' but were still hoping for a baby
What was your first reaction?: Terrified of having my heart broken again
Who was with you when you found out?: Tilley the wonderdog
Who was the first person you told?: Kate my best friend
How did your parents react?: Extremely happy
How far along are you?: 12 weeks
What was your first symptom?: Tender boobs
What is your due date?: January 31, 2010
Do you know the sex of the baby?: Yes
If so, what is it?: I just know it's a girl.........and Chris knows it's a boy
Have you picked out names?: For a girl, yes
If so, what are they?: Jennifer Margaret McDonald (but I haven't told Chris yet)
How much weight have you gained? 2kg's as of yesterday :-(
Do you have stretch marks?: Yes, but I've had them since I was a teenager. The good thing is it's something I don't have to worry about!
Have you felt the baby move?: Nope, just a few butterfly feelings so far that are supposedly 'gas'
Have you heard the heartbeat?: Nope, but my GP picked it up with a doppler at 10.5 weeks, it was registering but we couldn't hear it

About the birth
Will you keep the baby?: HELL YES
Home or hospital birth?: Hospital
Natural or medicated birth?: We'll just have to wait and see. Of course being my first time I would like to say natural, but I've yet to feel the pain!
Who will be in the delivery room with you?: Chris
W
ill you breastfeed?: All going as it should, yes I really hope so.
Do you think you'll need a c-section?: There's no indication that I would at this stage, so I hope not.
Will you cry when you hold the baby for the first time?: Yes, cry or freak out, or both.
What's the first thing you might say to him/her?: "Hallow little girl" hahahaha
Would you let someone videotape the birth?: No way, that's something no one needs to see (especially the poor kid!)
Are you excited about the birth, or scared?: I'm excited about starting a family and holding the baby; I'm not scared of the birth.

Go for it honey!!! you are so much like me in your thinking but like you said when do you let go and just enjoy it??? I'l teetering on the edge of it all too and I ahve been into a baby store to look at furniture and it was so fun to look at all the stuff but when the lady came over to me I was like 'I'm just looking' I am definatly going to start doing the room very soon and I know someone who had theirs done at 14 weeks!

Hey matie!
Good luck on Friday, I'm sure all will be ok. If you've got time on your hands why not think about doing the new additions room! Especially as the first time around it's very special you want everything to be just right, second time around you do too, but your less strssed and maybe more laid back (just make sure it's a girl before painting it pink or he'll hate you for it ). I'm still setting myself goals the next one is to get to 10th august for next doc appointment and then end of September when work starts to ease up, then i'll start thinking about preperations. But the next doc's appoinment i'll know what we're having, I'm hoping for a girl but I'll be happy if it's a boy too! The names i've chosen are Amy, Emma or Lucy, which all seem to go with Consolati, as for boys names hubby likes John.
As for sex I'm in the same boat as you, it's mutual and I'm still shattered after a day at work i just crash out and thats me till the morning except for the visits to the toilet. Bearing in mind that hubby works night shift everynight except two nights a week, and then i'm that used to sleepin on my own that i begruge sharing the bed. It's that warm in Italy just now that it's not easy to sleep and that's without being pregnant.
Talk soon. Carrie

I had already convinced the boys to move rooms before I was 2 months so I could have a room empty. I was only waiting to find the sex of the baby to decide what color to paint it so I can start setting it up! I think about it a lot because it's an empty blue room! And the tech thought it was a girl! So I'm sure I'll need a pink or at least more girly shade. When we first found out we were very 'active' in bed. But this past month with the morning sickness and sleep problems I've had it's been a very distant thought. Good luck Friday!
