14-10-2009 - The freak out!

My mood while writing this blog:
Fine & Dandy

So here’s what happened this morning:

I jumped out of the shower and was drying myself when I saw a big smear of blood on the towel………instantly my heart started beating and sweat appeared on my upper lip; I could feel blood rushing to my face and I was instantly in freak out mode! An image of rushing to the hospital came to mind. I gingerly wiped between my legs with the towel, and there was no blood. I sat down on the edge of the bath and put my finger ‘up there’ and I was already horrified just imagining at what I would see, but when I looked at my finger there was nothing but white mucus on it. I put my finger deeper and still nothing. PHEW! But where was the blood coming from??? I stood up and stated towling and checking myself again but I couldn’t for the life of me find where the blood was coming from. I looked over to the bath and I could see a big blood smear where I had sat down on the edge…….my bum? So I checked that but no. FINALLY, I found blood on the back of my leg, just below my bum. I think I’d had a pimple or something there and I’d scratched the top off. I was so releaved but I couldn’t believe how much blood had come from such a small thing that I couldn’t even feel!

Oh my gosh, you would not believe how relieved I was. When I took stock I realised tears had been dripping down my face before I realised the blood wasn’t coming from ‘there’.

What a relief, but I'd probably have to cry for a while afterwards anyhow! I've had a few freak out moments like that, myself! Glad it's all ok!

I know the feeling of blood and tears rushing to the face. I have experienced that one to many times. I am SOO happy everything is fine!!!!!

So glad it wasn't bad! I had a friend that bleed from a little spot in her leg and it was SO MUCH!

You totally freaked me out too! I'm so glad everything is going well. It's hard for me to see the area close to the baby chute. So whenever I shave there I do it blindly, and I have knicked myself a few times. You're doing great little Mama! =)

Oh how scary! I actually had bright red bleeding once, probably about this time or a little further along, in my first pregnancy. It was in the middle of the night (after sex...) and I was so scared! Turns out it was just the once and probably because of our little romp, so be prepared for that type of thing if it happens, I think it's quite normal but it still scares the crap out of you! Anything blood related in pregnancy is scary! I'm glad it was just a pimple for you.

That would have been so scary... SO glad it was nothing to do with bub.. My heart was pounding just reading the start of your blog lol. similar thing happened to me 2 nights ago, Just cut myself shaving so i know that feeling.

Glad everything is okay and it was just your leg!! That must of been scary. I know while I was pregnant with Aidan I actually did bleed down there, but they never knew why except maybe my cervix was just sensitive.
