09-5-2008 - first antenatal visit at the hospital

My mood while writing this blog: happy and satisfied

Well we just went for our first antenatal visit at the hospital. After waiting in the wrong place for 15 minutes we finally saw the midwife - I am assuming she was a midwife. My blood pressure was good but the fundal height is measuring 23cm. We decided to go with the 13th for a due date although I have left my page at the 11th. I still dont really know of my exact due date. As I said I know they come when they are ready. Also she said that the ultrasound report said that my placenta was a bit low but in time this will hopefully go upwards with the uterus as it grows. Worst case scenario is that I would have to have a c-section, but they will keep an eye on it and another ultrasound at 32 weeks which is only 10 weeks away! This doesnt sound like long but it is what? 2 1/2 months. I really still want a water birth and hopefully I will get it. I have made it to 22 weeks and hopefully I can make it to the end. She also said I should do lots of pelvic floor muscles and eat lots of meat and go to the dentist. I have another appointment in 3 weeks.
