28-8-2008 - massive pain fineMy mood while writing this blog:
fine

Last night I was sitting down and we were just watching tv and bubby was moving around as usual when all of a sudden I felt a massive pain. It was around my groin I suppose but it was low down like the very bottom of the uterus. I sort of went through it for a few moments before I could say anything about it. It also felt like the baby was stretching or standing somehow. I know he does stretch because I can feel pushing at the top and bottom of the uterus but this was different. I have never had pain like that in this pregnancy. It was kind of exciting I suppose. It lasted about 2 minutes then went away and hasnt returned. I am sure the baby is still growing and I am feeling massive. I have also been able to feel more definate body parts now though I still dont know what they are, but they feel more bony and more like "parts". Ooooh as I am writing he is moving around and sometimes it is painful. Anyway another appointment today and I am glad because I noticed my ankles were quite puffy the other night which I know is normal but seeing as I had pre eclampsia in my first pregnancy, I am more vigilant in noticing it.

I am pretty calm about hitting the 38 week mark. One part of me would love to try bringing the baby on in some way by doing reflexology but the other part of me says to wait as there really is no point in making it happen early. My mum will be here in a week to stay here and mind the kids when it all goes down so until then if it does happen we will have to rely on anyone else we can find and I would rather wait.

As yet I havent really experienced any signs as such except for the tightening of the tummy now and again. I spent all day in bed yesterday until the kid's came home on hubby's insistence and it was good. I read, watched tv, talked on the phone. I am savouring it while I can. Also my oldest daughter cooked for us which was fantastic. She used to cook 2 days a week but hasnt been lately. I hope she wants to do it again.

I am sure that it isnt anything to worry about - and you dont seem to be worried in any case. I think thaat it probably was just stretching (not much room left!) and it just hit you in an uncomfortable place.
Cant believe that you have just two weeks to go...or less!
