| 03-9-2008 - I am not nesting just cleaning | My mood while writing this blog:good but getting tired |
I have hit the one week to go mark. I feel huge although I am probably not that huge. It is mostly noticable when I am in bed and trying to do simple things like roll over etc. Today I had to chop this minature rose bush back as it grows like mad. I couldnt find the secateurs so I had to use scissors and I could not find any gloves so my hands had so many cuts and spikes from the thorns. Also I cleaned the outside windows at the front of the house. About 7 big windows and 2 sliding doors. then I went around the whole bannisters and cleaned them with a broom. Then I swept down the front porch which wraps around the front of the house. As I said I am not nesting, but my mum will be here on Monday and I want her to feel like she is coming to somewhere clean. then I did the washing (clothes) hung it up and now I have hit the kitchen. I am rewashing a whole bunch of teatowels and face washers that stink for some reason. I had two places full of them so I have tidied them up. I know the kind of thing my mum targets so I am trying to tackle them. I know she will do a lot of cooking and cleaning so it is important to know my kitchen. yesterday I cleaned up the babies room and sorted out some clothes and made the cot up with beautiful sheets etc. I know the baby wont be sleeping there for a while but it looks better besides that is where my mum will sleep so I am trying to make it as nice as possible for her.
I have been a bit concerned with the baby being posterior since a woman told me she had to have vaccuum extraction also that posterior labours hurt heaps in the back so I have spent some time leaning forward and not slouching back. But the thing is my belly hangs so low that it is almost impossible to sit with my legs at a 90 degree angle. To lean forward I have to open up my legs so wide to make room for my belly. My braxton hicks are still happening and I guess they are getting a little stronger. I dont know how women manage to walk while they are in labour. I find it hard to get around now while I am having the practice ones. So although my body really doesnt want to do it, I have been thinking I should start walking. I walked a lot with my first 3 kids but I was much fitter where as now I am not fit at all. I am much bigger than I was with them and I am also older and have more to do. I am not trying to make excuses at all. My other concern is that the baby's head was still not in the pelvis and posterior presenting babies dont put enough pressure on the cervix as they dont fit as snugly as an anterior presentation that is designed to engage and put pressure on the cervix. So my concern is that I wont go into labour naturally and will end up needing to be induced and an epidural. I know I am letting my imagination run wild here but I should just trust in my body. I was talking to mum yesterday and we both realised there is no rush even if the baby is overdue. I should just take this time to not worry and to trust in myself and that the time will be right when it is right.
