15-9-2008 - 2nd membrane sweep

My mood while writing this blog: encouraged

After having the show for a few days now and a few contractions but nothing regular or painful, I went for another membrane sweep today. the news is I am 3 cm dilated and 30 % effaced. The cervix is also not pointed to the back anymore and the baby's head is deeply engaged in the pelvis apparently. He is still posterior I am afraid. I am going in again on Friday for a normal appointment and another membrane sweep if nothing has happened by then. Then if nothing has happened by Monday I will get to see an obstetrician re induction. But even with that, all they will do is break my waters and let me go for an hour to see if anything happens. I guess if nothing happens they will induce me with a drip. My blood pressure was good today and again, the procedure hurt a bit. It isn't very comfortable to have a hand up you and having her push the baby down from the top. She did that so she could feel which part of his head she was feeling. I will be here waiting for something to happen. I anticipate some pain tonight though as I had it last time and will probably tonight too. She said she was being quite rough in the hopes that it started something.
