| 18-3-2009 - update on bubby 6 months tomorrow | My mood while writing this blog:fantastic mood |
Wow I have been so busy lately with work, professional development and my course that it has been hard to get on and write a blog. My baby is 6 months old tomorrow. For the last two Fridays I have been taking him to a pool, where we do lots of songs and kicking and splashing. He loves the water and kicks butterfly style. The first week he was all smiles and really enjoyed it but the second week he was upset and obviously tired but got into it minutes after. that same day I took him in our pool and he enjoyed that so much. he laughed his head off at my youngest daughter who kept popping out of the water. it was a real belly laugh and was contagious. Hadley has been up on all fours lately, rocking back and forth for about 2 weeks now. Today he has been balanced enough to lift up one arm and also sit down leaning on one hand and it wont be long before he can sit, I am sure. Not that I am rushing him. I want him to develop at his own pace. His combat crawling is excellent and he can travel far and fast when he wants to. We got him a play pen as a safe place to leave him sometimes and he loves being surrounded by his toys. He can now turn 180 degrees in the bath of a night time and I dont need to hold his head up anymore. I have the water at about 2 inches high so even if he goes on his back, his face wont submerge. He has been saying dadadadadad more deliberately now and really gets involved in a game if someone wants to hide and pop up, he looks where you have gone. He arches his back a lot, when you try to put him in the car seat or pram. I have been a bit more consistent with his solids and so far have given him pear, apple, sweet potato, avocado, custard and some sort of museli with fruit as well as farex. I have also given him rusks and arrowroot biscuits to munch on. He makes a massive mess. he cries like mad if you are feeding him and you stop. It is like he is hurt or something. He has been having a couple of bottles of formula as I had to go out the last two nights and haven't expressed any milk. He has taken these well. I have been getting out for walks and he really enjoys the pram. Going for his check at the nurse in a week so can't wait to see how much he weighs. Not sleeping so well during the day - resisting at every opportunity and escapes wrappings, but likes to sleep wrapped rather than free to roam. He plays in the cot now and practices his crawling. I have got rid of the cradle as he is too big now and I have a porta cot in my room for the times I need him to sleep there. Well nothing else for now. I am still losing weight and eating a diet of vegies, fish, seafood and eggs mostly and staying off carbs. Also trying to exercise. Hard to get an early night's sleep. Bubby still sleeping well at night time though
