| 23-5-2009 - first tooth | My mood while writing this blog:happy |
Today bubba got his first tooth. It is the bottom left front tooth. He doesn't seem to have been affected by it which is good. At the moment he loves blowing raspberries, especially when he is eating. He wakes up doing them and wakes up saying Ba ba ba. He loves to stand but still holds on to things although a few times he has stood on his own. He bangs his head a lot on furniture, walls or windows. Today he bumped his head on the bath and it hit him right on the eyebrow so he has a bit of a bump and red mark there. He is eating 3 meals a day and I usually give him something dessertish and something savoury. Usually fresh vegies or meat but sometimes give him jarred food if I have nothing prepared. Although I try to always have avocado or yoghurt to give him. He loves toast, sandwiches and will eat just about anything. He is a pure joy to have around. Occasionally he will get cranky and if he does, you can bet he is tired. He doesnt really have a routine, only his own. I still try to put him down at 9am although it is flexible, then I just rely on him to tell me when he is tired. he loves his baths, sucking on a facewasher, drinks from a cup in the bath, and drops things out of the bath. Tonight he was hitting me with a closed fist because right now, everything is about shaking it or banging it and he doesn't really differentiate between people or things. He loves toys, reading a story to, singing songs to and in the morning he will scrunch my face while we are lying in bed. Lately when I breastfeed him we have this little game where I ask him what he is doing and he smiles and rocks himself, then he stops then I do it again. Before or after a bath, my kids and I crawl around on the floor with him and he runs away from us. We say we are coming to get him and he crawls off, laughing. Then turn around to see where we are. He follows you if you crawl away. He still loves sleeping in his porta cot rather than his wooden cot. He has a lovely mattress and it is wider than a cot so he can lie in all weird positions without getting his feet caught in the bars. He sleeps mostly in his room but at night he sleeps with me once he wakes up, although his cot is in our room. He isn't really into his walker, or exersaucer anymore. My girls were different; they were quite happy to wheel around in their walker for ages, but he prefers to be on the floor. He loves to chase a ball around the house and he loves looking at the cat. Hadley loves people; any age any size and usually has an enormous smile for them. Sometimes when he b'feeds he scratches my sides with his nails. He drinks from a straw and I have been giving him extremely diluted juice. He loves taking his socks off and doesnt really want a hat on anymore. He enjoys grass and crawling around in it. His three sisters adore him and always ask to hold him. They help me with feeding him, undressing him and bathing him. Also putting him and out of the carseat (but I always check it myself). He likes the car and will often fall asleep.
He is so different to my girls in that he sleeps and he doesn't cry in the car. And I have never (touch wood) had one night of him keeping me awake or prolonged periods of inconsolable crying. He is so easy going and laid back. He still tells you he is unhappy but his needs are fairly easy to read and anticipate. He is such a happy boy.
