19-5-2009 - Late 4th week gestation...disapointment

My mood while writing this blog:
Ok

OK ladys I thought I would let you in on my ultra sound visit yesterday it was so disapointing!

I went to the Dr. and had the mini u/s in his office, we couldnt see anything because I now have an tilted uturus? So I was sent to the big vaginal u/s for a better look. We didnt see anything but a thinckining of the uturus walls & something that developes in your 4th week of pregnancy. No sign of a sac yet just the developing cells (I cant remember the name, but the tech said it was a good indicator of a pregnancy). SIGH So back up to the Dr. where he took about 4 vials of my blood to run tests one of them being hcg levels...I was so disapointed I thought for sure I had misscarried but the Dr. said not to freat that I based on my levels from May 8th of only 37 (only 10 days ago and I only tested on an HPT weds May 6 positive) that I am probably only in the tail end of my 4th week...(no baby or sac is visible yet does this sound right to everyone?)

So next Weds I go back for u/s number 2. Let hope this time theres a sac and bean!

I was so bumbed that on my way home I had to buy a pregnancy test just to make myself feel better for the next two days I have to wait on my hcg level results (I wont get them until Friday). So I get to the office and go take the test and sure enough positive, lame I know but anything to make me feel better after the empty viewing!

Anyone gone in early or miscaluclated their conseption dates? Please share your story with me! Good luck everyone have a good week!

Hiya sweety, sorry to read your so dissappointed, I have had to have many internal scans with my babies, I have lost way too many, but what your doc is saying sounds positive, dont stress too much. I had an ectopic previously so always get an early scan in every pregnancy to establish it is in the correct place. I too have been scanned at 4 weeks ish to only see thikening of womb. Dont stress this is correct for the stage. At 5 weeks they have always seen an egg sack. And 6 weeks I usually have egg sack, bean and heartbeat. Well if it is successful. Okies honey. Relax your baby has a lot of growing and developing to do, and by the way many many times my dates have been wrong despite the fact I have periods every 28 days, so I guess our bodies decide to do what they want when they want. xxx Take care and keep us posted x

Hi there, I too have a retroverted uterus. Or tilted uterus as some dr's like to call them. It makes it even harded to see bub. Chin up. Let us know how you go.

I obviously messed my dates up too! i had a vaginal the first time and today as well. i thought i was like 7w5d and i was sooo wrong. i was 5w5d! i was off by 2 weeks! they saw the baby, but was so small and even had a heartbeat, so went it today and im 6w6d! heard the heartbeat too! it was 132. im sure everything is fine, and its just too soon to see anything. dont stress over it, it will make you sick

try not to worry, I saw the sac and only the sac at around 5 weeks, almost into my 6th. Everything was normal and when I went for my next scan at 9 weeks we could see the beginnings of the baby. I'm sure all is fine with you.

i went in for my u/s and they could only see a sac and it was done thru vaginal too,he said not to worry at this time and he scheduled me back for another one on the 28th,so i am kinda stressing over this too.
