30-12-2008 - Bitter Sweet BFP!

My mood while writing this blog:
Its been Emotional!

I am sorry that I have kept this quiet (I wrote this to two very dear friends I have made on here, you know who you are ;o) ), but when you read on, I am sure you will understand. I thank you in advance for your support and love.

I did a test this morning (22nd Dec) and it is a very faint positive :o) which I am very pleased about.

Heres why its bitter sweet:

My grand father hasnt been well for some time, and was taken in to hospital last Thursday (18th Dec), over the past few days, he had been put on a breathing machine, but it was too much for his heart. We lost him yesterday (Sunday 21st) afternoon. I think he knew he had, had enough.

I am trying to see it as a sign, I will have a great man, watching over me, and protecting me. He will always be my Hero and I am very proud of him for fighting as long as he did.

I was going to test Christmas Eve or Day. But I felt I needed to do it today. I am going to buy a proper test today, as I only have the test strips I bought from the internet, they are just little pieces of card, that you dip. I want to see if the line is any darker on another test.

So since last Monday, I have been through the motions abit. I bought another test which was very positive :o) I will upload pictures. I have been trying to stay calm and stress free, and have been taking care of myself with my vitamins, and have been making sure I am eating the right things and getting enough sleep.

I gave Darren the tests in a gift box Christmas Day, which was very emotional, as it didnt go to plan! Thats a different blog altogether! He is very pleased, and happy, but he said that he didnt want to get too excited, because of what happened before (m/c in Sept at 9wks) So we are both a little nervous. I go to the doctors next Monday, I will be 6wks then, so I think she will arrange a scan for the following week.

I have a good feeling about this one, although today I am a little concerned that most of my symtoms have subsided a little! Is this normal, and has anyone else experienced this? I am ready for the morning sickness, so bring it on!

So sorry about your grandad, but also so happy for your BFP, it really is bitter sweet. You have to be brave now for your little baby and i wish you luck and congratulations, also sorry for your loss x x

I am so sorry for your loss, but so happy for the new life you have growing inside of you. Stay positive and every day when you wake up speak to your baby that s/he is a gift from God and s/he will live.

Ruth my darling....one of my best friends in the whole wide world....Every prayer that I have is that this time around everything will be perfect! I am like you and have a feeling that it will be OK this time!

Ive come back on this site.....as of now (the new year) we are trying for number 2.....eeeek! Its just as scary the second time around :)

Remember im here 24/7 for u to ask anythin. You know me girl...I will tell the truth on how it is. But trust me...u will be fine. Andddd I already have 2 binliners of clothes ive sorted out for you....if its a pink one of course!

Hi Rooey,
Just been reading your blog in tears, I know exactly what you mean, we lost my beautiful amazing Mother in Law on December 9th to cancer, so this is like a gift to us and that's why we feel positive that it will go well, it's almost as if she's given it to us if yo know what I mean.
Maybe you'll get a little boy in honour of your Grandad and we'll get a girl for Kath.
These things happen for a reason.

yay! you've gone public! I am sure everyone will understand the delay in your annoucement! I am glad you got a more pos test x x Your grand father is watching over you, I am sure of it. Dont worry about the symptoms, you are just adjusting to it, when the hormones surge again, they will hit you all over again x x keep calm x

I am so sorry to hear that your grandfather has passed, it sounds like you were very close to him. He will always be in your heart and as you say watching over you.

I am so happy for your bfp! I know that you are nervous and full of anxiety but take care of yourself and make sure the doctors take care of you too!
