My mood while writing this blog: Research Geek! |
I have been reading lots about what herbal and fruit teas are safe in pregnancy, and they all say different things! So frustrating!
My point being is this: I have become addicted to Twinings, Fresh & Fruity, Pomegranate & Rasberry tea. I have at least 4-5 cups a day, its soooo good. Caffeine free too :o) I have been wondering if this many cups are safe, due to its ingredients. Which, as I have mentioned there are conflicting research results. So here they are, what do you ladies think?
Hibiscus, Rosehips, Apple Pieces, Natural Rasberry Flavouring (7%), Liquorice Root, Natural Pomegranate Flavouring (5%)
Safe or Not?

UPDATE: I HAVE EMAILED TWININGS, TO CHECK IF THIS IS SAFE, THEY SHOULD KNOW, THEY MAKE THE STUFF! AWAITING A REPLY.
Now this is where the confusion is, Rasberry LEAF tea is said to do be bad early on, but if it just says Rasberry flavouring, surely that is from the fruit?? Oh I dont know! OK, STAYING AWAY FROM IT! DAMN, NOW I NEED A NEW ADDICTION!!!!!!!!

Sunday, 11 Jan I only drink herbal and fruit teas. My doctors advice is that as soon as pregnancy is confirmed Not to drink green teas as it will make the bubbas heart beat to fast. Fruit teas are fine except for anything with Raspberry as this has an effect on the uterus and can bring on labour. Hope this helps x neen209 -
Saturday, 10 Jan Raspberry tea is not recommended until late in pregnancy...it stimulates uterus muscles and causes strengthening...which in the later stages is said to help/bring on labour. You will hear the midwives tellin u at the end stages (2-3 weeks before due date) start necking the raspberry tea. If it were me....I wouldnt drink it now, I doubt it would do much harm...however i only recently went through the whole prego journey as u know..and the word on the street then was....take at end stages...then u can either drink it or take it in capsule form xx baby1one -
