| 26-1-2009 - Scan Update | My mood while writing this blog:Feeling Better, but still not clear with the piece of mind! |
Firstly I would like to say a very big thank you for all your kind words and encouragement on my last blog, it really does mean a lot to me :o)
Ok, so I had my scan this morning, I was booked in for 9am, got there early, and didnt get seen until 9.15 (talk about make the wait worse!) Anyway, the lady calls me in, and asks if the bleeding had stopped (a little white lie, by my doctor ;o) and my self!) So I go along with it, and say yes, it was very minimal, but enough to worry me. She wasnt as warm as the other lady I have had, and actually did hurt when she went in with the thing (ouch)
Whilst I had my eyes closed (preparing for the worst!) she says, the heart beat is there, which bought a huge smile to my face :o) But the tv on the wall wasnt on so I couldnt see it :o( she took some measurements, then turned the screen to show me, and Wow! I saw the cord, which was really long, and bubs floating on the end, she pointed out everthing, and showed me the heartbeat. I asked if it was all normal and the heartrate was ok, and she said it was fine, but I would know more at my 12wk scan! Now I read into things, so bare with me! After that comment I was thinking 'should I be worried about something, is bubs going to last until 12wks, the heart beat seemed slower this time etc etc this has gone on all day!!! How I dont have grey hairs I dont know!!!! Anyway I got a pic, and again it isnt the best pic, but I will try and get it on at some point. I really wanted one with the cord, it was more detailed, but I didnt get to choose, so ho um!
I go and wait for the paperwork, and get my little stamp for my pic which I was very proud about :o) So I get handed the paperwork, and ask about the little three bar line and the diamond thats on it (this denotes the heartbeat). I asked if it was normal, and the lady (who was the receptionist) said 'as long as it with in the two end lines its fine, they grow at different rates', I told her it was less than my 7wk scan, and again she said 'they grow at different rates' When I compared it to the 7wk scan it is lower on the line (again I will take a pic of these and put them on)
This is what pees me off, in the UK, not all, if any hospitals, give you this information, and I think this is a very important piece of info, every mother wants to know, whether it be a first baby, or a 10th baby. We should be able to know this, for piece of mind! So now my piece of mind is still fuzzy and confused, and I have a long three and a half week wait until my 12wk scan. Grrr to UK maternity practice! Ladies of the UK we need to change this!
So as I am still worried and even more paranoid than before (is that even possible??? lol) Should I call them or a midwife and ask for someone to explain to me? I need it clarified, like I say for piece of mind, or I will be a nervous wreck by 12wks! AAAARRRRRGHHHHH!!!!!!
Oh I feel soooo much better now!
Thank you all for taking the time to read this, and I am sorry its long.
