| 13-6-2009 - Thunder Thighs!!! Grrr | My mood while writing this blog:Scrunchie :o( |
Ok Ladies, I need to vent.
Why is it that they say, you should buy your pre-pregnancy size clothes????
Errh, are all maternity designers stupid! I have a theory on this, they are either a size 0, and never had children or they have had children but are a few of the lucky ones that do not put on an ounce of baby weight!. I say this because, I used to be a size ten in trousers and an 8 up top (typical pear shape!) Every pair of trousers I have tried on, I have had to go up not 1 but 2 sizes! Purely because the 10 (low and behold are too damn small!!!! grrr)
Anyway, today I have been on a quest to find some shorts for my holiday. I graced Mothercare and Mamas & Papas with my presence, and tried on their collection, I took in a size 12 and 14, and to my surprise, the 12's are too small and a little tight around my new thunder thighs, and the 14's are too big around my waist (meaning they gape at the back, which is very unsightly)
However, enter Next... seek out a pair of 14 cargo shorts, and perfection :o) and these arent even maternity! Although saying this I also tried on a pair in black exactly the same, and size and they were too tight! Ummm! Ho hum, so I got the white ones :o)
Now I may seem a little bitter, and may be I am in some way (I'll be honest) I have been loving pregnancy so far, as you know I have had no horrible symptoms. I have only put on a stone and a half so far (dont panic its fine, the midwife said its because I am small framed, I am sure there is more to come!) Yet that stone and a half (ok may be some of it) has found its way south on to my inner/outer thighs and my already large bum! You may think I have a problem with this area, and you would be sooooo right. Darren has been a sweetie and keeps telling me 'its great' and that he 'loves it' (well he would his a bum man ;o) lol) but I cant help to get a little down about it, especially when it comes to not being able to fit into things, or feeling them getting a little tight :o( And I really wouldnt mind, if it crept north on to my boobs I would be a very happy girl then :o) So for now I will continue to grow these trunks of mine, and hopefully I will be able to lose them again once baby is here (oh the Wii fit/active are going to get it!! lol)
If any of you wonderful ladies know of any inner/outer thigh excersises, that are safe to do, then please please let me know. Oh I am doing bum clenches already ;o)
Thank you for reading this, and I am sorry for the rant.
Sending you all lots of love, big hugs and squishie kisses
Thunder thighs Roo
