05-10-2009 - Sorry its been so long. 5wk update

My mood while writing this blog: a moment of calm!

Ladies

Thought I would write a little update whilst I have five minutes (and I really do mean five minutes, I will explain)

So its been five whole weeks since my little rock chick arrived, and since then we have had nothing but family and friends visiting, I honestly dont think we have had five minutes to ourselves (stops to think....umm) Anyway, Addysen is doing great :o) She now weighs 9lb 5oz, we have had to stop breastfeeding as she just wasnt getting enough from me, and I was having to top up with bottles. So for both of our sanity, we are now just on bottles. Which is a shame, but you either have it or you dont! I have been having issues the the health visitors, who in my mind are bloody useless. Everytime I have asked for advice, they have told me not to worry its normal or made me feel like I am a terrible mum. This has been for a number of reasons, like feeding, sleeping, the fact that Addysen has taken to forgetting to swallow when feeding and ends up choking! (which is damn important if you ask me!) Oops sorry for the rant. At last weeks visit, they were more concerned about why she had only put on an ounce, than her sleep issues, and the fact that I was beside myself on how to deal with it! I am now telling them what they want to hear, at the end of the day, I know whats best for her, and us for that matter (on the feeding side of things. Everything else I have worked out myself).

We have had an issue with her staying awake during the day, she actually fights sleep, and has more like power naps (which is why I said five minutes, cos for now she is a sleep ;o) wont be for long though!) I have got used to it now, but at first it was really tough. She sleeps through most nights which is good or may wake once around 3-4am :o) All in all she is an absolute dream. I never thought a baby could give you so much entertainment just with facial expressions alone! She has us crying with laughter at some of them, I just wish I could take a picture or have a video of every single one, and her little contented noises are just so cute to listen too aswell :o)

Now here is a strange question for you all, or something to think about. When you are pregnant, your hips move slightly apart. Does anyone know, if they move slightly back? I cant seem to find the answer, and I have size 12 jeans waiting to be worn lol!

Addysen, has just broken her nap record! In the time its taken me to write this blog, which is near on 15minutes, she has slept :o)
