26-7-2009 - Trying to find a doctor slightly frustratedMy mood while writing this blog:
slightly frustrated

We are now back in the states and glad to be back and close to family.

I started to look for a doctor Friday afternoon. I know it was a silly time to start but we had some insurance issues to sort out first.. Anyway, not knowing the American system makes it all a bit hard for me and slightly stressful but I am trying to remain calm and trusting God. My SIL had recommended her obgyn (she is 12 weeks pregnant) and so I called that office, but they are not taking new patients.. Unless I get a referral directly to them from a family practitioner. I was then transferred to a family practitioner but they don't take any new patients for another month!! No way am I waiting that long - that would make me 12 weeks and I still would not have seen a high risk doctor (which I am supposed to)! By that time it was getting too late to call anywhere else so we will have to continue our doctor search Monday.

Friday evening and Sunday afternoon I had a tiny spotting, just on one wipe mixed in with my discharge (sorry if too TMI) which of course has made me a little bit nervous and I really, really need to find a doctor soon. Please pray that the right doors will open.

Overall though I feel well and quite calm. I do know that God is granting me a supernatural peace and for that I am thankful. I am still confident that all will be well with this pregnancy.

Thanks to everyone for checking in on me and for your support and prayers. I truly appreciate it.

Love,
Karin

I've had some spotting too and so far so good. So I'm glad you have peace. I have to work through military channels, so it's totally different in the "real" world. Take care hun! Praying for you and little bean.

Hi Karin,
I live in Canada so unfortunately I can't help you with the doctor situation. However, I did have bright pink mucous spotting with this baby for six days between six and seven weeks, and all is well with this baby. I know how scary it can be to see spotting when you have already lost one, but it sounds like you are staying calm which is great! If you are ever concerned go to the ER, and maybe they can do a scan and check in on the baby. Also, it might not hurt to call your local hospital as many of them might now which doctors are accepting new patients. good luck!

Hiya can't help with the doc sorry but can reassure you (or try LOL) that I have had same type of bleed twice with this pregnancy one when my period was due and another time the day before my 8week scan both times I was told not to worry and implantation bleeding was mentioned I hope this helps you a wee bit. Good luck finding a doctor to see xxx

I am glad you are close to your family. I would make an appt with an OB/GYN. When you call the office explain your history and hopefully they will get you in soon. Once atthe OB/GYN they should refer you to a high risk Dr, that they work with. Stay positive. Take care everything will be ok!

If u see a High Risk OB - u would definitely need a referrel to them from a regular OB - I do know that. Sam

Karin, that could still be that "implantation spotting". Insurances are tricky... some do make you get a referral and some don't. You should call your insurance company and ask them if you need a referrel to go the the OB GYN because most of them do not require a referrel for an OB visit if you a female. OB are not considered specialists. Keep calling around. See who's taking new pts. You wouldn't have to specifically go to that OB. Let them know of your history and how important it is that you get in to see them asap.
I work with insurance so... I know some things. let me know if you have any more questions. ....
Hang in there. try not to worry. in my prayers, Sam

I'm glad your doing ok and a great big welcome from new jersey lol. as far as our medical care goes every state is different, I work in healthcare and to be honest with you the system kinda sucks. I would suggest a little research online about some area ob/gyns amd then make an appt, usually you dont need a refferal for ob visits unless you need high risk ob. I'm sure it will work out. I'll keep you in my prayers and thoughts

Hi Karin,
Glad you have finally made it to the states but it sounds like they really make it difficult for medical care.
I am sure everything will be fine lovey and will be praying for you and the rest of your family.

take care
