09-9-2009 - Not a good day sad and upsetMy mood while writing this blog:
sad and upset

Today was not a good day. I had an extra ultrasound. Baby is looking fine and doing fine, but there are other concerns. It looks like I may have partial abruption (separation from the uterus wall). Also the placenta is very close to the cervix (10 mm away) and there is a blood vessel going in front of the cervix. I have an appointment in a week to just have another talk and hear the heartbeat - basically to try and keep me calm, and then I have another ultrasound in two weeks. They are hoping the possible placenta abruption will have resolved itself by then but there is no way of knowing which way it will go. They don't say bedrest at this stage of pregnancy (15 weeks) but do tell me to rest as much as possible. I think I may call my mom who is in Denmark and have her come and help watch my 3 year old and ease that stress in my life. I am of course quite upset about the results and afraid. Dear friends, please do pray for me.

Hi Karin,I send my good thoughts to you and your family. I know this must be a stressful time. Try to take as much rest as you can as it is out of your hands. With my last baby, my placenta was covering the cervix, plus I had a large fibroid as big as an orange also right on the cervix too. I didn't have bedrest, but had to be careful the whole pregnancy. I am sure you will be ok and keep my fingers crossed for you. best wishes, Penelope (babypossum)

Karin, dear; I am so sorry for this added stress. I am so thankful that the baby looks good though! That is a blessing and a grace. Now as far as these other things, I hope the care you are getting is wonderful. I hope they take super special care of you. And now, do you need anything? Can I do anything for you? I'm serious, if you need me to drop dinner off for you or bring you library books or something, please feel like you can ask. And you have family around here, right? Can they come help out? I certainly hope so. What about at church? Do they have any kind of ministry you could tap into for this? Like a meal ministry? So you could stay off your feet more, and not worry about things like cooking. Well dear, we *will* be praying extra for you. And keep us updated. (((hugs)))

I know it must be scary but it's a good sign that the baby is still doing good. I had a friend who had the same thing and she is now 28 weeks pregnant and is doing fine. I hope you have the same outcome as her. Just rest up and hang in there.
