12-1-2010 - 32 week growth scan

My mood while writing this blog:
Very happy

I just got back from my first weekly u/s appointment that I am having due to my gestational diabetes. Baby Kaden is doing super. They have a scoring system that goes up to 8 and he scored 8, yay!! He now weighs 4lb 7oz which is at the 42 percentile so he is definitely not getting too big at this stage which is a general concern with GD. The only thing was that he was breech. My OB is not concerned about it though as he says they move around a fair bit until week 35 but I hope he will move soon. Prayers appreciated for that. By the way my tech person is awesome!! Even though she is just meant to take measurements she will explain what we see on the scan and she always tries to get a good view of my baby and get me some pictures. I even got a 4D this time. It is not the greatest because I think arms and the cord was in the way, but I am still thankful for it. I will try to upload it later. So overall a super appointment and I am very happy. I meant to ask though if she could see how my cervix was holding up. Last time she was able to give me a pretty good estimate although it was external, but I completely forgot to ask!!! Do I have pregnancy brain or what?? Can't believe it! I wanted to know because if my cervix length is still looking okay then I wanted to start moving around a bit more. Oh well, maybe next week.

I have started on Glyburide which helps me produce more insulin to control my sugar levels and it is working perfectly. My body had to get used to the lower numbers and the first few days I was feeling lightheaded and dizzy but am getting better. I am thankful that with the medicine I can now have a normal GD diet and even a piece of bread with breakfast. The things you miss when you can't have it.. What can I say, I love my bread. I look forward to celebrating with some chocolate though once Kaden is born :)

Your doing GREAT!!! Don't worry he'll flip. I did exercises to get my last baby to flip. I didn't want to sit around and wait and wonder. You can Google breech exercises to get baby to flip. There's a few different ways. The one I did was walk on all fours. I looked pretty funny! But it worked fast.

Awesome to hear the appointment went well! So, it looks like a standard size for our lil babies at 32 weeks is 4 lbs 7 oz. huh? I go for mine next week and can't wait to find out what Jack is weighing in at. Try and upload the 4D pic, I love love looking at them! :)

My youngest son Isaac was sideways until 35 weeks ... my doctor didn't say much about it because he turned on his own ... Good luck, hopefully you little one will move too : )

Awesome! Your little baby boy sounds very healthy! Hopefully he will move out of the breech position. Long ago when I had my son they actually moved him out of a semi-breech position in my belly. That was fun. The Dr pressed and pushed him into the right direction when I was in labor. Thanks for sharing the great news. Glad to hear you're doing so well!
