For several reasons I decided to accept my OB's offer of induction at 39 weeks. It will help take the stress of me with regards to when to stop my blood thinning medicine as I can't have had it too close to labor. Also my husband won't get any time off from work (unless really needed) so it would be optimal with a labor on a Friday. Also I just can't wait to see and hold my baby Kaden and to have him here at 39 weeks instead of 40 seems like such a blessing. Plus then his birthday won't be as close to my other son who's birthday is March 10th. So plenty of reasons, but I am still slightly nervous about the actual induction but I know in the end it will be okay, and I feel peace about it. So anyway, I called the office yesterday and told them I would like an induction and they called back this morning with a final date and time: Friday Feb. 26th at 6 am, check in at 5.45. Wow, that is early. I hope I will be able to sleep the night before! Feeling a bit doubtful :) Anyway, this means I get to see baby Kaden in 24 days!!!! Can you believe it? I can't! This pregnancy has been SO long and now he is only 24 days away. I am so excited I want to jump up and down, but probably shouldn't :)

So exciting and there's nothing wrong with doing the induction for high risk mama's like us. I have accepted it oo as I am always in pain with my arthritis as well as baby is going to be an 8 lbr anyway. What if I went 42 weeks waiting for lil man to make his appearance? lol

Congrats Karin! I was going to be induced with my last and when I talked to the hospital they said I could come in the night before to get a cervidil the night before to soften my cervix... it makes labor go easier once you get the drip that brings on hard fast contractions... lucky for me that put me into natural pain free labor. I would ask about it if I were you.... it was the best labor experience I could ask for having a first. I know some get nervous about being induced but I pray they do again this time for me lol

So glad to have things right around the corner for you. Will your mom be there on that date? That is one week after my bday and a little less than 2 weeks after Sarah Faith's! Congratulations! I had my son induced as well due to the blood thinning injections, and it all went perfectly. I bet you are excited. It was hard for me to sleep for the 3 weeks after I knew my induction date, I just couldn't wait to meet my little miracle. Good luck and keep us posted!
