25-4-2009 - OPK still positive???

My mood while writing this blog:
confused

ok so im a little confused on wednesday I did an opk and it was not quite positive, so on thursday at about 2pm I did one as I had a few signs of ov and it was positive, I did another one at 6pm again positive, then again at about 10pm again positive, so we go to bed and dtd of course.

the next day I take another test to check surge has finished only to get a double strength positive, I did about 4 more that day all positive ( that was friday) they got a little weaker but were all still stronger that control line. again we dtd.

today I get up thinking surely surge has finished by now so I do a test and its another double strength positive so Im left think what on earth is going on. I do more test through out today and they are all positive still but not double strength but still positive.

so my lh surge has peaked twice does could that mean im ovulating more than once?

or I just have a long surge of lh. I did a test an hr ago an it is slightly lighter than what they have all been but still positive. will do another b4 bed.

the reason i do them alot is becoz we are ttc for a girl and need to know exactly where abouts ov will be so we can time bd.

here are my opks since wednesday not including the on I have just done which is still positive.

I may have an answer to whats going on when I was ttc I had the exact same thing I ended up going to the dr had my hormones checked exams ultrasounds etc and all came back normal we had been ttc for six months anyways I ended up finding out why my tests did the same thing as yours are doing when I seen the pics u posted( the first thiNG I THOUGHT WAS HOW MINE LOOKED EXACTLY THE SAME) And I got informed That my body was trying to ovulate but just would not release the egg thus why I kept having surges of the lh hormone it would surge and surge and nothing happened I got put on clomid to help me release the egg and it worked first try,,,,,,If you dont get pregnant this cycle then id talk with your dr about this. As far as ttc a girl there is so much more to it but id say stop bd like yesterday.

A couple of things may be going on: Right on about maybe having an egg from each side released. The other possibility is you have one egg that the first LH surge tried to get to release, but it was not quite enough to get the egg moving. Your brain will 'turn up' the LH to try and get the egg to release - thus you end up with multiple day positive OPK's. If you're going for the shettles method for a girl, as you know you want to dtd a day or so before you ovulate - your surge seems to be ending so you likely ovulated this morning - no BD today! :) GOOD LUCK!
