| 02-2-2010 - introducing our new little boy!!! | My mood while writing this blog:so in love |
Our little boy finally arrived at exactly 42wks.
I was suppose to be at the hospital at 7am to be induced but our little man decided at 1:45am that moring that maybe he will come on his own after all. i had even set the alarm on my mobile to go off at 5am coz the big hospital is an hrs drive.
woke up just to go to the toilet and had what i thought was just a mild random contraction. when i tried to go back to bed i kept getting woken by what i thought was false labour but i thought id time contractions just for the fun of it with in 15mins they went from 5 - 10mins apart which i could still doze between to 90sec's apart and certainly couldnt sleep between.
i decided to ring midwife but she wasnt on call that weekend and i didnt have the back ups number so i woke up hubby and said we needed to go to the hospital. he hadnt actually taken note of what was going on and thought i ment come on we have to be at hospital soon for induction, he ran back inside to grab his lunch while i was outside waiting for him to unlock the car, he realised what was actually goin on when i told him to f is bloody lunch and looked at the time which was 2:30am, he hadnt even realised i was having contractions. the birthing unit was a 10min drive away which was not a very nice drive. got to the unit and of course they werent expecting me coz i didnt have any number to ring other than my midwives, i was in no mood to wait at the door for some one to answer and/or explain what was up so hubby had to(felt like forever). no idea what the time was passed that point i just know when back up midwife did ve i was 8cms and still not fully effaced and his head wasnt down far enough, i was wanting to push but trying not to, in the end i couldnt not push and suddenly waters broke and baby was crowning which i was oblvious to i thought he wasnt ready to push but they were telling me his head was already out and i only needed another big push, at 4:15am Emmett Joseph was finally born weighing 9lb5oz(4230g)!!! even though a scan 3days prior had given us that size i still didnt believe he was gonna be that big. mason wasnt that size til he was 2mths!!!
i managed to get away with out any tearing or grazing etc.
he is 10days old now and doing great, breastfeeding took a little adjusting to as i had the biggest gap between feeding mason and emmett as i had between the others iykwim.
